Stripped bolt holes

Was modding the bike with different handlebars and when reinstalling the left brake lever I stripped out the bolt hole. Anyone else ever do the same and is there any recommendation(s) for repair? TIA.

your going to have to goto lowes or something and get a different sized bolt or drill it out / tap it to fit a bigger bolt. you could probably use a smaller nut and bolt.

You'd have to drill out the hole quite a bit bigger for the Helicoil. Either go to a slightly larger imperial thread bolt, or the next size up metric.
