OK! As you might already know, the SL Range Extender is an extra battery in the form of a water-bottle. Its capacity is half of the main battery.

When you order the SL Range-Extender Battery, it comes together with a water-bottle-cage (which you attach to the bosses at the top tube of your Vado SL 5.0 ST), and with a rubber band included.

(You would install the water-bottle-cage for the RE in a different place than I did it as the frames of our e-bikes are different).

You need to buy this item, too:

This cable is for connecting the RE battery to your e-bike.

What you would get with these two purchases is:

• Range Extender Battery
• Water-Bottle-Cage
• Rubber Band
• SL Range Extender Cable (Road)

The above would be enough. However, you might want to charge your Vado SL main battery and the Range Extender at the same time. Then you need this as well:

Why would you need a Range Extender in the first place?
For longer, faster, and less exhausting rides. I recommend going for the Range Extender because that stuff is on SALE, and only in the United States! Don't need, don't buy!

I’ll definitely plan to get the Range Extender soon! I didn’t know it was in the form of a water bottle I now need to find another spot to keep my water bottle now because I have the step-through model

You have two sets of bosses: one on the bottom, and one on the top tube. I guess you install the RE on the top tube and a side-loaded water-bottle-cage on the bottom one Ask your LBS when you are collecting the goods! Note: The name is Specialized Zee Cage II. You get one together with the RE.

That’s a good idea. I will get the RE first to set up as an anchor and then figure out the rest

There are multiple companies that sell exactly the same things. And there are a lot of companies that have produced interesting outside-the-box bike bag products that are very interesting. To me, honestly I think Ortlieb makes good, basic stuff but kind of misses the boat on what people actually need and use. And their stuff is overrated and overhyped by many people online.

There are a number of companies experimenting with making quality bike bags from recycled materials at lower costs.

There are a number of companies using ultralight materials, where appropriate, for bike bags to reduce carrying weight and often cost.

There are a number of companies, mostly cottage industry companies, making very highly functional bags that work well with modern bikes and modern people.

Here's the Ortlieb Vario PS:

Ortlieb Vario (up to 2021) required "unclipping the straps" (as it is required with 2 Wheel product). With Ortlieb Vario PS you unclip nothing. That's why I said "it is hard to overtrump Ortlieb"

The 2 Wheel product is £145. The Ortlieb product is £178. Overpriced?
