Stomer ST2 teaser splash page

Nice looking but not nearly as stealth as the st1 I have, "stealthier" the better! Also think they should go 48 volt since the battery isn't compatible

Hey Mark, welcome to the forum! I agree on the 48 volt pack suggestion, unless it weighs a whole lot more. Maybe they could offer two versions like Pedego does with their bikes. Also, were you saying that the ST2 is or is not at stealthy as your ST1?

The running light, and full picture don't look very stealthy too me, my original sport was the steathiest (but didn't work well). I think the balloon style tires make the the ST1 get a 2nd look in general so the sport was stealthiest , the ST1 next and as the bling adds up the ST2. I have the fender/light kit, hides the motor when i put my bags on too.

Note: I see I typoed the above , sorry, fixed :)

Mark, you're clearly a more thoughtful, logical, and practical man than me.

My inner-child is envisioning something akin to this right now:
(Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

Well it looks like the specs have been released:

OMNI
The world’s first digitally connected e-Bike. Featuring Omni, a fully integrated user-interface with real-time telemetrics, GSM, GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as the ability to communicate with and receive directions from smartphones via the Stromer App. Simply put, the ST2 is the future of e-Bikes.

MORE POWER
The ST2’s new and more compact SYNO Drive motor not only provides 500W of power, but an enormous 35Nm of torque too: that’s more than enough to put a very big smile on your face when you step on its pedals. It also comes as a big relief when the challenges of hills or steep roads lie in your path. You can control the three modes of motor support and the level of regenerative braking with the controller next to the grip on the handlebar.

The ST2’s low maintenance and highly efficient SYNO Drive motor offers assistance up to 45km/h. If you live in an urban setting, commute by bike, or just like long cruises on country roads, you’ll soon understand why we like so say that the ST2 is “faster than a car.”

MORE RANGE
With a range of up to 150km, the ST2’s new proprietary Li-Ion battery puts the ST2 in a league of its own. The 48-Volt battery contains a massive 814Wh of energy. Despite this significant increase in endurance, the ST2’s battery still tucks neatly away into the down tube.

The ST2 offers complete flexibility when it comes to recharging the battery. It can be charged through an external socket in the frame with the battery in the bike. Or, with the twist of a key and the press of a button, the battery can be removed and charged at home, at the office, or even in a café with the Stromer battery charger.

The ST2 can even be recharged while cycling. When used, the braking system of the ST2 generates energy which is then fed back into the battery: this is known as regenerative braking. Furthermore the ST2 is EnergyBus compliant. EnergyBus is an open standard for the integration of, and communication between, the components of light electric vehicles.

MORE DESIGN
At first glance, the ST2 stands out from the crowd, and radically so. The ST2 is an e-bike with the highest level of integration: integrated daytime running lights, fully integrated battery in the downtube, integrated cable routing, and integrated user interface. Its design has been thought and rethought to be beautiful, yet brilliantly functional - taking every detail into consideration when it comes to safety, serviceability, comfort, handling, performance, and style. Building on our principle that less is more, its elegant, clean lines and minimalistic exterior make it an understated head-turner.

MORE CONNECTIVITY
Stromer is making and writing history when it comes to digital connectivity. The ST2’s revolutionary new user interface provides remote, wireless interaction between the bike and other touch points such as the Stromer Portal and your smartphone. This allowed our engineers to develop useful features such as remote locking and unlocking. The bike’s performance settings can be fine-tuned from your phone, wireless firmware update, remote acces to bike informations and control functions, remote bike performance tuning via Smartphone App and lock and unlock ST2 via Smartphone App.

All of this is possible thanks to Omni, Stomer’s proprietary cloud-based platform. Omni not only enables anti-theft protection, it also stores your Stromer’s service records - making life for you and your local Stromer dealer much easier.

THE ST2 POWERSYSTEM
The ST2’s SYNO Drive motor is a brushless, direct-current motor located in the bike’s rear hub. Since the motor is fully integrated inside the hub, the only mechanical contact is between the industrial-quality ball bearings, resulting in an incredibly quiet, ultra-efficient, and virtually maintenance-free system.

If 35Nm of torque isn’t enough to put a smile on your face when you first put pressure on the ST2’s pedals, then its 500 Watts of power as you tackle hills or race to get to work on time, surely is. The ST2 provides pedelec assistance up to 45kmph, so you can save energy even above cruising speed. To handle all this power, the ST2 is equipped with front and rear thru-axles for increased rigidity and security.

BATTERY
Our Li-Ion battery offers up to 150km of range and can be charged directly while inside the bike, or removed to be recharged in the comfort of your home, in a café, or wherever there is a power source. A magnetic EnergyBus connector on the battery adheres to the open standard for integration and communication between electric components of light electric vehicles.
  • Energy: 814Wh

Sure looks awesome! I might just get stupid here and get another bike!

Killer specs.!!
It blows every other high-end bike out of the water.
GPS, GSM PLUS motor locking mechanism for anti-theft is just too enticing.
48V and 17ah battery, included city kits with lights & fenders, pletscher kickstand, better saddle and OMNI is a superb package.
6810 Swiss francs translates to $7750 USD but the initial pricing is still within the range of many people.
Stromer/BMC is really stepping up the game in premium segment.

Yeah it looks unreal! I'm gonna need to take it for a test cruise to see if it's all worth it (i'm secretly hoping it is!)

Great video! I've noticed they aren't trumpeting any weight savings..... or talking about weight at all

Exactly, I was thinking the same.
They quote 5kg (11 lbs) battery and I am sure Syno drive with anti-lock would be slightly lighter compared to ST1.
They might have reduced some frame weight but adding lights, fenders, LCD display etc would bump up the weight a bit.
Well, when you have such specifications, you can trump some limitations like weight.

Beat the weight issue with power. It really does work... until the battery runs out or you live on the 3rd floor of an apartment with no elevator!
That being said, since I don't lift my Stromer (much) the weight is actually quite nice for stability.

Even the Stealth bikes or the ZERO motorcycles feel strong and they weigh 100+ but James is correct about trying to carry one up stairs, that's a huge bummer. At least with the Stromer you can remove the battery pack to make it a little easier. I'm sure the direct drive hub weighs quite a bit still.

I wonder what the red ring of led lights are for in that video you posted Rav? You can see them light up at .47 seconds

Great catch James... I wonder if that's designed to be a tail light? Looks like a ring of red LED's mounted where the seat post clamp would be, shining up. Any other theories?

Very nice integration of lights for sure.
I called up the BMC dealer in D. C and they said they don't have exact date for receiving the shipment but they confirmed the price around $7.5K

Eesh, out of my price range. Maybe I'll start with a Falco conversion then. They've got a smartphone app too.

Or I can fit some cool headlights on my ST1...

Actually, my German buddy told me our ST1 was cheaper than the Swiss ST1 and looking at the website that's pretty accurate: http://www.stromerbike.com

They've priced out a baseline Elite at CHF 4320 or ~$49oo, $700 more than a Platinum in the states. So I'm betting (or hoping) it will be more reasonably priced. :)
