Stealthy Cruiser EBike

I finished the $120 bike. It just went out the door. It has a throttle and a torque sensor. One final detail not shown is he wanted a bell, so I included a Pride Bell from Public Bikes. I was given the original prototype for this design a few years ago. I only owned it for about one hour and gave it to a person who was feeling down on the train. It didn't cost me anything, but it made his day and as far as I know it is still one of his most prized possessions. The $120 bike owner is super happy. Again, I am not the customer. I wouldn't want to invest in a $120 bike or ride with a Pride Bell.
@PedalUma

Okay, so I'm a little bit jealous. I bought a Sedona DX in a medium, but it ended up being too big for me. Since Sedona has been discontinued, I went to ebay and found a Cypress DX in a small That one fits. Next I grabbed the 26" wheels off the Sedona DX and put them on the Cypress DX. Perfect! Nice 2.3" tires. Now I just have to build it up. But they put water bottle mounts in the seat tube, and the giant suspension seat post was shortened accordingly. Unfortunately that means I can't add an after market suspension seatpost, like the Satori. But even as it is, with the 26" wheels and the ARS seat, it's a really good riding bike, and very easy to dial in!!!

Oh, I don't have a bell yet! Ha!

Nanny Flatlander spreading his stink as he internalizes the actions of others and dreams for the appearance of ghostly regulators.
Forever and a day: Anyone in the wide world may ride any one of a billion downhill roads and go extremely fast on any bicycle.
Nice that you come out of your narrow experience to take a poke. But then that’s all you ever do here. Just another keyboard tough guy without ever any positive input or civil feedback. Plonk.

We were not talking about downhill runs in open spaces. If someone does that and hits a rusted barbed wire fence at speed, that is on them. We were talking about multi-use paths. They have grannies with canes and walkers, mom's with strollers and dogs with little tots. Unlawful electric motorcycles do not belong in public. We are talking of civilization. If you have your ranch in Utah, fine. My aunt was hit in on a path in a park and died. A reckoning will come. Hee Haw!

Just ordered the bottle batteries for my stealthy cruiser... now I'm not sure if it's going to be a cruiser or just a stealthy bike. @PedalUma is so full of good ideas...

So here is the battery:

The bike, I haven't figured out yet. Too many variables.

If I did a cruiser it wouldn't have good brakes...

If I did a comfort bike with disc brakes, it wouldn't be a cruiser...

And on and on and on! Ha! Isn't DIY so much fun?!!!

7Ah, pretty small battery, and low mileage. May I ask from whom?

Oh sure... aliexpress... I estimate the range at 12 miles. I bought two. Hoping they can do me a round trip of 20 miles...

The Sanyo 3500 is good. I have done two Giant Momentum Vida bikes so far and have a third. These are the low step version. The higher top tube version would be great for a conversion. It rides like a Vado. It is very comfortable. On one I installed a back swept bar to shorten the reach. The spot for the two cages is Ideal you could just swap over the discharge wire. These bikes are simple and clean. They are all set for front and rear racks. Replacing free wheels and adjusting mechanical discs is easy. There is even a minimalist chain guard.

Luna is giving people what they think they want before they know better. I have said this before. I used to think that more on a spec sheet was more. It is not true. That is a hoarder's mindset. Just look at their back yards. It is a junkyard. The hardest part is getting past that to less. The really good builds are minimalist and elegant. Zero zip tie builds for example. That takes work. Hee Haw and the Dukes of Hazard had vocabularies of 300 words. That is easy and in a bad way. Look at the HB of this bike for a second. Good bikes are not ugly and clunky.

It took 4 months, but I think I am finally back on track to building a stealth cruiser ebike. I got the cruiser bike ordered, and it should be arriving tomorrow.
It’s a 7 speed cruiser with v brakes. So maybe some Koolpads with ebike material. And the eccentric adapters for the bb are on the way. More information tomorrow after the bike arrives! ;)

Looking forward to your build!!

@tomjasz, I have helped @mikeschn on some aspects. Can you talk to him about wheelset options. He wants to lace in an IGH. And the current wheels are lower grade. Thanks. It should be a cool build.

The box has arrived. Our weather forecast calls for 70% chance of rain today. I think it's a good day to stay inside and assemble, disassemble, reassemble what's in the box!
