ST2

Hoping I get an answer regarding the ST2..I've had neck and back injuries which limit my riding to about 20 miles. I'm interested in the ST2 but it's labeled as aggressive with regards to body positioning. Can the rise of the handlebars be adjusted? Secondly, although I live in San Diego, California, my commute to work begins in the very early morning which can be very dewy. I have many rust points on my bike. Will the environment have a negative effect on an bike?

Aggressive is a bit of an overstatement, probably because many e-bikes are comfort cruisers. You can sit upright on the Stromers, like a MTB. If you still wish to modify the geometries you can put an adjustable or more upright stem on pretty easily. I highly recommend a BodyFloat or Thudbuster for all hardtail, rear hub motor designs. While rust never sleeps, if you keep the bike clean you can mitigate the effects. I'm a San Diego coastal rider and pay particular attention to the spoke nipples on all my bikes, keeping them clean with a toothbrush in case I need to true or re-tension a wheel. They have a tendency to bond to the spoke over time, preventing adjustment. I don't believe the electrical components will be adversely affected by our ocean air because the internal wiring and insulation. I've heard March will be ST2 season, so you have a while to wait. -S

Thanks Shea. I've been holding off a purchase knowing so many advances are coming and coming rapidly. My work situation changes soon so waiting to see the ST2. It may not be the best choice for me but I wanted to get a full sense of what's available. You answered two of my pressing questions, thanks again.
