Sport vs Flow Tall Rider Sizing and Frame Flex

Hi there,

For those that have both a Sport and a Flow, can you please comment on the following? @Melonbike @2002K2
  • Sizing: Are the two identical or is the Sport larger in some way? Reason I ask is that after getting the Flow for my wife I am considering a Sport, but the sport feels a bit too small (I'm 6'2"). The seat does not go high enough and the overall frame sizing fees a bit too small. Both the Flow and Sport page shows the Sport model for geometry and the image shows seat height maxes out at 41", but on the flow it will only go to 39" at the max extension line.
  • Frame flex: The Flow frame is way too flexible for me. Does the Sport feel like granite or is it only marginally better? If it doesn't feel rock solid like a normal mountain bike then I am not interested.
Thank you!

I don't have both, and the Flow we have coming isn't here yet. But, based on what I've read, many of the step through bikes have an issue where the owner/rider has mentioned flexing. That's all I know for sure. It's the reason I didn't buy one for myself. If it's flexing under the weight of somebody half my size, I'm just not interested in how it's going to flex with me on it. That said, the Flow appears to be built like a tank. I'm surprised to hear anyone say it flexes.... -Al

It appears so, but that's a loooong tube that carries a heavy battery.

Anyone have a comment on size of the sport vs flow? I just rode my wifes Flow again and put the seat up about an inch beyond the maximum mark on the seat tube. Thank helped a bit, but I still shouldn't need to go beyond to fit me based on the quoted specs.

Hey, I just checked my bike. I'm 5'6 and with my seat setting i still have 8-10 more inches i can adjust my seat upwards.
As for flex, sport is different and lot less flex. Not really noticeable imo.
