have a RKS RD5 electric fatbike, 250w motor, 36v with a KT-LCD3 display. I recently had some repairs done, before this I could go 36 KM/H, since the repair with the display being changed and more, I cannot. I tried changing paramater settings, the KT-LCD3 max speed is set to 72 yet it limits me to 25 with PAS. I've tried everything.

I'm not very helpful on the forum for fixing, perhaps you should buy a specialized ebike you will get more well-known members expertise and input on how to fix your
bike.
Not being smug but lots of people on EBR asking for fixing on crap ebikes.
I'm 59 yo I bought emtbs that can out perform land cruisers and range rovers.
Fair, it was a quick steal for the price I got it. Appreciate the reply though!

since the repair with the display being changed and more,
Can you describe what the repair entailed. Was the orignal display a KT-LCD3, and did you have the display changed out? Was that your original diplay before the repair? Your description is confusing. Please list the total repair and components replaced. Thanks

On many KT controllers with JST connectors, there is a speed limiter jumper. I can't believe that the shop would be so mean as to re-connect it on you.

Also check the C parameters in the LCD3. C5 should be 10 for max power and C14 should be 3 for max pedal assist,,

Hi Harry, I appreciate the reply! I'm not so good with wiring, I do know where to find the controller, mind if I send a picture of all the wires so you can help me find it?

As for P and C settings, I configured them correctly. When I checked the controller to find out which one it actually is, they scratched off the white label on it. Very annoying. They also added a weird speed sensor it looks like which messed up my speedometer, showed me going 7 when I was at 20..

The P2 setting should be 1 for an external speed sensor too, The P1 value is also used by the KT LCD3 display to compute speeds, and doesn't seem to have a real effect on performance as long as it's not far off. . If you have an external bike computer where you know the speed, some people will adjust P1 so the LCD displays what they want to see,

I have done many bikes with KT controllers and LCD-3 displays (also the LCD-4 and the LCD-8H), and the sole solution to raising the speed limiter is changing it in the display. Whatever is going on here is mighty unusual. Is this also a KT controller? As far as I know you don't mix brands as the display uses parameters that only their controllers understand.

I have no clue what controller it is, they (the repair center) scratched off the white lable on it, no clue what specific controller.

Why would your repair center scratch off the controller ID label? Sounds very fishy to me. They should be able to tell you what controller they installed and guarantee that it's compatible with the rest of your ebike.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'll send a picture and call them up today.

I honestly think it's the P & C settings, could anyone give me a list of what it should be for a RKS 36V 250W motor?

Try
P1=46 and adjust til your indicated speed is correct
P2=1 if you have an external wheel sensor.
P3=1 throttle power always max. Set P3=0 if you want throttle to vary with PAS level.
P4=0 throttle does mot require PAS startup to work
P5=15

I have a 25 amp KT controller with a KT-LCD8H display, and I couldn't get my e-bike to go any faster than ~35 kph with the wheel in the air.

I just found this in the manual,..

" If users didn’t configure the pulse signal system, and then P2 parameter setting can be 0. "

So I set P2 to 0,..

Try P2- 0 and see what happens.

Your KT-LCD 3 has the same settings as my KT-LCD8H, but my display has some extra power settings under C- 4

I turned the Throttle Gear power down to 20%, so now Throttle Gear 1 has 20% of the power of Throttle Gear 5
