There was a small e-bike dealer here in town about 10 years ago.
He sold a lot of small e-bikes with small motors that had speed/power limiters on them.
At the time you could simply "disconnect the yellow wire" and the bike would go to maximum power full time.
The plastic gears in the motors would shread, the wires and connectors would melt, the motors would cook, and they'd wreck the batteries.
Their $800 ebikes would be garbage within 3 months so they would just throw them out and buy another one.
