Speed & Cadence sensor for Delite

Can anyone recommend a bluetooth speed & cadence sensor that fits well on the Delite?

The problem is that the distance between the crank arm mounted magnet and the spokes of the rear wheel is too big. The sensor I have now is one unit with an extension arm, with one end being the sensor for the crank arm magnet, and the other end the sensor for the spoke magnet. The distance it covers is too small to bridge that gap on the Delite. So ideally there would be a sensor kit that used a wire to let you mount each individual sensor wherever you want.

Has anyone seen anything like that? Or had success with a sensor kit on the Delite?

Thanks!

I have used Wahoo RPM sensors on various bikes over the last few years.

There is no need to use a magnet attached to the crank arm (cadence) or spoke (speed/distance). The sensors – not magnets – go round and round!

  • The Wahoo RPM Cadence sensor attaches to a crank arm (or even a shoe!).
  • The Wahoo RPM Speed sensor attaches to the wheel hub (front or back).
  • These sensors detect when a revolution has been completed and transmit both a Bluetooth Smart and an ANT+ signal to your bike computer.

We have used Polar, Wahoo and Garmin speed and cadence sensors on several bikes in both Bluetooth and Ant+ configuration. We currently connect the sensors to Wahoo Elemnt bike computers. Both the Wahoo and Garmin have replaceable batteries - using the CR2032 cells. The Polar battery is not replaceable, and uses lithium ion. The CR2032 cells have to be changed every 6 to 12 months. The Polar's lithium ion lasts 2 to 5 years, but then you chuck the whole sensor.

As far as connection reliability, the Garmin and Wahoo seem equal, but overall, the Ant+ seems more reliable than Bluetooth. Bottom line, I'd get the Wahoo with both Bluetooth and Ant+ capability, if you are connecting via Bluetooth (like to a phone).

Thanks for bumping this thread, I should share that I followed David's advise and went with the separate Wahoo RPM cadence and speed sensors. Have had exactly 0 problems with them. Much easier to install than the pedal/spoke mounted models.
