I've been out of the US since March 30. Before the tariff stuff happened (I think). I'm just wondering what the price of ordinary stuff is like in America these days? So let's start with eggs. And as a comparison, all you folks in other countries, how much are a dozen eggs where you are? (And while we are at it, do you buy eggs in a metric ten, or by the dozen?)

Usually between $4 and $5 (USD) for a dozen, but I bought some for $1.99 last week, with the condition that I had to spend at least $20. Picked up a cut of beef, some italian sausage, and italian rolls. Chicago combos! Still haven't opened the eggs.

Egg scarcity is due to bird flu. There is some politics for that, mainly bird flu research being halted to save $$$ for tax cuts.

Please say where you are - - there is great variability in prices in the US. I assume in Canada as well.

We usually buy 18 packs of standard, not free range or organic, eggs here (central Pennsylvania) ...two days ago an 18 pack was back down to about $6.

24 organic free range eggs for $8.39 ($4.20 Dozen) in the lower Westchester/NYC area.
The larger quantity definitely reduces the price.

last i compared 12 to 18 at my local stores they were 9.99 and 14.99… technically a half a cent more expensive in quantity 😂
Well I guess between price in general and no quantity discount.... that's two reasons it's sucks to be you 🤣🤣
Jus' play ń 🙃

If you want to buy 30 or 36...they're really cheap around here. Around $3.50/dozen
