I get chipmunks ALL the time. Much less scary than a snake, but when they come flying out of the weeds right in front of me, it's freaky because I don't want to hit them.

This one passed between my front and rear wheels in the middle of the bike.

I'm starting to think they do this on purpose. A group will sit on the side of the trail and wait for a bike.
"Hey Fred, here comes another one! See if you can pass between the wheels. I double dog dare ya!"

Big time bragging rights among fellow rattlers if they land a strike on a passing cyclist. Much higher degree of difficulty than a hiker.

Squirrels are kinda smart about going back. Though I had one that ran across the road, then decided to go back then when I was close, went back the way he was going, chattering at me. Had one jump out of a tree this morning right in front of me.
