Boxy mini vans seem to be all the rage here. Yellow license plates designate engine displacement of up to 660cc. White plates are over and above that.

Wow those monkees are immune to electricity!
You wonder how they can get away with it especially some of the larger adults. I suspect the lines are well insulated and beefy enough to support their weight.

One day we were sitting in the main living space of the home when we spotted one walking by on all fours on the metal fence railing just outside one of the bedroom windows. We harvested all of the kiwi fruit and persimmons from the vines at the back of the home so hopefully that will keep them from coming over so often. My wife has severe doubts as they seem to have become habituated to scavenging.

This micro food vendor In Nagano caught my eye. It's not the cool looking truck that stands out but perhaps the fare on its menu. Some might feel a bit apprehensive (even offended) and say neigh to eating such a handsome creature as a horse but it’s gaining popularity here. We opted instead to sample the Gohei mochi which is a soft chewy rice cake coated with a sweet walnut miso paste and is served up on a bamboo stick.

My dad told me that people in Europe ate horsemeat during WW II. Things would have to be pretty rough around here for me to eat Secretariat (-:

Pickup trucks mostly, adverts will say grey import version
