Between the Lucas electrics and the Jaeger gauges, you never had a clue what was going on, but it was fun to drive and on a Spitfire, you never used the doors... just jump over and into the driver’s seat. Those WERE the days.
Maybe when you were 20-ish! But they were cool cars...😎

My dad had a brand new triumph back in 67, he drove that thing everywhere with no electric issues.. just saying😀
They were cool in spite of their flaws. I still have love seeing them on the road. I know any NA/ NB Miata is more reliable and gives the same driving vibe but I would still prefer my 74 MGB over my 99 Miata . Mine looked like this

Miatas just aren't the same as real British sports cars, I believe the original miata was a copy of a 60s Lotus.

No surviving pictures of my Spitfire. I was almost lucky enough to buy a 66 e type Jaguar in the 80s, but the owner couldn’t do it, backed out literally as I handed him the check. His wife was making him sell it, and he revolted!

The reason the XKE Jag was so beautiful was that you would have something to look at while waiting for the tow truck. Totally worth it.

1960 Vw flatbed: This was the little engine that could! In 1980 I used it daily, rain or shine to haul full loads of produce to Granville Island.
