Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

They have recently finished the loop around the lake I live on and I love it. The area has extensive multi use paths ,which are an excellent use of tax dollars.View attachment 128217
So green. This is what California looks like right now.

My first trial test using a third-party drone app. I was a bit leery implementing the follow-me mode but once I got on the bike, I felt a bit more reassured.

I also practiced hand landings and take offs and it’s easier than one would think. This technique comes in handy when there is little to no space for a ground lift off.

Great fun. Couple of questions if you don't mind. Do you use the free app or pay the 35 bucks ? And how did you mount the controller to your handlebar ?? Thx.

Are you using Litchi?

I used to drone quite a bit before having kids. This one is from a while back. Litchi is pretty amazing and I’ve only scratched the surface. I still have my Mavic Pro around but I haven’t used it in about 4 years.

I forked out the fee only because I intend on using the follow mode and waypoints in future videos. I’ve heard that if you had signed up as a tester for the Beta version early enough that you could get it free. It’s a bit of a bummer that the mini 2 doesn’t incorporate the follow/active tracking features due to the lack of front/rear sensors. That being said, the app in follow mode enables the user to change the altitude and distance as well as the heading on the fly. It tracks the signal directly from the controller even while I’m partially hidden behind trees.

I have a Ram mount that I built specifically for my bikes and it holds the controller firmly in place.

@WattsUpDude - Judging from the quality of that footage, you need to dust off that MP and start shooting again. Well done! 👍

Thank you for the good words!

Most of my recreational rides are with my toddlers so it’s hard to keep them in line. I don’t think I could look out for them while flying just yet.

But yes, I’ll probably bring it with me on my next solo ride. 😊

Wow Rome, you’re really pimped out with the tats and gold chain. I like it. 👍Good on you for helping out those in need. The world is a better place with simple offerings of kindness and goodwill towards others. Kudos. 👏
I inherited the Cuban Chain from my Daddy.
He was a regular soldier for Ferdinand Marcos Senior.
He came back wearing it when he went to Cuba.
Ever since I was a young boy I had my eyes on it.
I guess yeah!!!! Pimpin!!!!
Tattoo is a cover up of a Hawaiian girl's name from my teen years, I got tired of telling people it's my pet turtle's name
So I had it covered up in the Philippines during my army days when we were sent their to participate in military exercises.
Survival Training and stuff like that.

I have a Traxxas Aton. I've used it for sport flying (tricks/flips/etc) but it fell into lack of use when the laws changed as it is heavier.
I'll see if I can find the vids...

I went riding today after tinkering with my bike for a bit. An annoying code kept showing on the cheap display screen, something on the speed sensor. BIKTRIX dealer says it is normal when the sensor detect the magnet going back and forth. Like a pendulum, I guess it's true because the fault code appeared when I was positioning the bike for a picture.
Pics of disuse military building and roads that were decommissioned I think from Clinton administration's military cutbacks. State of Hawaii now police it. However they are not really showing signs that the place is being policed.
So indigent people now occupies some of the abandoned buildings.
Believe it or not a handful of them are veterans from middle east wars.
Not sure if the writings on the building is readable when you zoom in.

This is hard to see without a large screen. It's me flying a Traxxas Aton in Sport mode. My band is playing the background music...
Nice Dave. Those are insanely fast and I doubt that my aging eyes could keep track of one! Don’t think I’ll be able to perform any barrel rolls with the mini either. Can those be equipped with a camera? As a newbie pilot, I still have much to learn but there are plenty of online video tutorials that I’ve found to be quite helpful.

The recently released Mini 3 has advanced obstacle detection, a screen that’s integrated into the controller so no phone is required to act as a display and still comes under 250g. It’s almost double the cost of the 2 but also has a ton of features.

I've had a Mavic Pro2 on my radar for over a year but hesitate to pull the trigger due to all the FAA drone regulations. I live close to an airport and most of the places I go are also in restricted airspace. In my case, just jumping off my deck into the pool would seem to violate some FAA reg. Becoming a licensed drone pilot is one option that simplifies some of the regulations but it just involves another layer of bureaucracy.

I realize these regs are designed for our safety & protection but some seem to be overly zealous. I'm curious how other droners here handle them.

That’s one of the reasons why I pulled the trigger on the mini 2 as it’s under the max governed weight so there is no mandatory registration or licensing involved. However, I do think there has to be some level of restriction placed on drones operators otherwise it would be sheer mayhem in the skies. My neighbourhood just happens to be in the direct path of an air ambulance (STARS). As a general rule, I only fly if I’m trying to refine my technique or if I’m shooting footage. I always check for restricted zones before I go out to an unfamiliar area and avoid public places where there are too many people. One of the nicest features of the mini 2 is how quiet it is even on takeoff/landing.

Yup, here's a crappy vid with a GoPro clone camera mount. There is no gimbal so the video is rough. Also should have wiped the sound so turn that off...

just a short ride today ..over to Hamsterley Forest going a different route than i usually and is a lot less traffic ^_^ my normal way out via Shildon then down to Tindale along the track to west Auckland to pick up the offroad cycle route to Hilton ,then headed up to cross over the A688 and up through Esperley -high lands.
once in Hamsterley i dropped down to Bedburn and the road into the Forest, travelled a long forest drive which seemed strange as there was not many people about. i climb out at the other end then headed for middleton in teesdale , but so far along the road i was not enjoying the ride so called it a day, i headed over to the woodland to Tofthill road , to head back to West Auckland and back on my outward route, been back early i stopped off at my old works to see a few old buddies .and back in time to watch the tour :eek:kay:
41 miles better than nowt 🤣🤣 https://www.strava.com/activities/7435674262
