Milk cows or steak cows?

Hate to break it to you Taylor but almost all the meat you buy in the market is from retired milk and breeder cows. They get tired at about 9 years old and get sold to the slaughter house. The exception can be found in the 'gourmet' case near the regular people's meat counter. Maybe.

not been out for a while ..so planned a route for tomorrow so thought it best to take the bike for a short spin just to make sure all is well.
we have a mostly off road route cycle/walk that run around the whole town , all was good

ride 2 ... thought as i was not going far and my partner has not been out on hers i took hers out just to keep battery's happy used the same route as it was very quiet. her bike was totally strange to ride her been small went for the 43cm the handle bar seemed so tiny lol.mind i soon got used to the Enviolo hub... but its not as good as the Rohloff on my super charger,but still a very nice bike

A quick ride downtown and beyond today. Mostly checking on progress of trail upgrades and new construction.


The Spokane River going right thru downtown in Riverfront Park. One of the many falls in the downtown area. The land mass in the background with the trees is an island with some falls on the other side too. In the spring, them babies really cook!

This setup includes two batteries - the large Luna Wolf which is 12ah and a smaller 8ah battery in the frame bag. In pedal assist 3 (225 watts max) I have about 75 miles of range. In PAS 2 (125 watts max) it is closer to 90.

The wife and I took advantage of the sunny weather yesterday and had a trip up to Stanwick Lakes in Northamptonshire.

This comprised of tracks around the lakes, tracks round the Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve and tracks on an old, disused railway line.

The tracks were mainly compacted limestone gravel and fairly flat. However, there were one or two steep bits onto bridges over the River Nene. There was a little bit on road riding in some of the villages, but not too much.

We had nice views of the countryside, old railway infrastructure, rivers, the wetlands and local villages.

The Speedrid looks like a close relative of the Lectric XP.

I've never seen or ridden a Lectric XP, but did do a lot of research on them before purchasing the Speedrid (made by Ancheer). Almost pulled the trigger on one but didn't care for the wait, so went with the Speedrid thru Amazon, delivered in 5 days. Got lucky, no issues . It's only 36v, not as powerful as the Lectric but suits my needs very well. Same price range after delivery.

Wednesday planned ride... was up and out by 7-45 headed to Bishop Auckland to pick up the old rail line which is just after the viaduct also known as part of the NCN 715 for about 2 miles where then it changes to the NCN 70 passing through Brancepeth,- Willington, Sunnybrow - Brandon on to Broompark picnic site. where just after Baxter wood you pick up the Lanchester Valley railway path also known as NCN14 passing though Bearpark- Langley park - Lanchester to the outskirts of Consett, which then i picked up the the c2c route NCN 7 or better known as the Waskerley way which was to take me all the way to Parkhead Station cafe. at the 36 mile point and 30 of that was traffic free.
had a coffee and a sausage+ egg sarnie then headed down Crawleside into Stanhope then off up over Bollihope on the B6278.dropped down into Middleton-in-Teesdale as i was in need of tea+cake after all that climbing. left on the B6282 though Eggleston up folly bank took a left over to Woodlands towards Toft Hill down to Tindale crossing -shildon and back along the cycle path home , totally knackered all told 76 miles and a really fun day .

Took a short cut through a local park on a ride today

Some recent photos and a video of some of the local trails that I ride. The footage on this morning was a bit long as it combines three separate but consecutively ridden trails.

I ride the same single tracks week in and week out and know lay of the land quite well right down to most every root, twist and turn. I really am dying to explore some new areas but will likely have to travel outside of my home turf but I’m okay with that. I’m particularly anxious to ride some e-MTB friendly DH runs and this spot continues to catch my attention. Been putting it off far too long and hope to get out there before long.

Riding through my nearby Pinery Ontario Provincial Park… found some puffballs along a trail on the way home… very good fried up. Fall is creeping in now. Soon there will be lots of colour in the leaves.

I've seen those, I think. Didn't know they were edible...

They grow from as small as these to a foot or two in diameter. If they are very white inside with a texture like fine white bread (no gills, no dark yellow, green or dark colour) they are puffballs and edible. They don’t last long, so be sure they are white inside.

I am always surprise to see the millage you put on your Verve+3 in such a short time compare to me (1350 km in 6 months) congratulations Latitude!

Got some new 50mm rise bars for my birthday the other day. The bike came with 20mm rise. Definitely a posture improvement.



Also moved the Garmin 530 to the handlebar instead of the out front mount. Looks a little less "busy".
