Sduro Allmtn 5.0

I just got my new bike yesterday, my first ebike.

What a blast. I haven't been for any major rides yet, just about town, which has a few hills.

I am recovering from a medial ligament knee injury and justified the expense on that basis. But I was hoping it was going to be a hoot and it sure is.

The bike quality is excellent. The Yamaha PW system has such smooth delivery. Town traffic is speed limited to 30kph an I now have no qualms about pulling into traffic and taking a genuine slot in the traffic. It's much easier to get up to speed and not feel "in the way".

For an entry level full suspension bike it's very functional.

I will report back in a week or two with an update. I'm very glad I went for a Haibike.

PS. Thanks for all the bike reviews. They really helped choosing this bike.

So I am absolutely loving my Allmtn. But I'm after a bit of advice. I had the chain repaired today as the gears were slipping after about 4-5 pedal revolutions. Bike shop Al said one of the links was stiff / jamming and has replaced it with a split link. Sorted. I need to learn to do this myself.

Anyway, he recommended upgrading the chain when I need to replace this one. All fair enough, I tackled a bitumised but very steep climb yesterday in the rain. Then I came off in a slide on the wet grass. The ride down is over chalk, grass and mud. I've read the suggestions about easing off changing gears, especially on a climb. I had a hoot but I’m still getting used to the power.

Have any of you upgraded your chains and if so what do you recommend to replace a KMC X10e?

The Kmc x10e is a chain designed for pedelec and spedelec with central engine.

The mising links or Quick link :http://www.kmcchain.eu/chain-KMC_X10e_Silver-trekking-10_speed

With chain trunks and quick links it solves many problems.

Maintenance.
With wet weather "chain oil", with dry weather "Teflon oil", the biggest enemy of your chain is salt water, water and air ..... do not use machine under pressure of water / air, this removes the oil inside the Link or chain and replace it with water causing it to rust even though,

The new oil will not enter the link because it is full of water ......

Beautiful pedelec,congratulations.
