REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I wonder how this friction drive unit performs. Couple good reviews on Amazon and one on a Redit forum that I could find. Relatively inexpensive, uses standard 48v battery, retracts from wheel, bidirectional capable, claimed 350w which is more than the Qiroll Pro.

This looks interesting. Having an electronically retractable motor is a big plus, the system I tried 30 years ago had one and really liked it. Wonder how much it weights? I'm really tempted

I saw the setup, looks bigger and bulky than Qiroll. If they make it compact and smaller i might pick one up and mix with my hailong/bafang battery pack.

They list weight as 1.5kg, not sure if that includes the control.

Google translate. It'll even translate text in images which is amazing.

I'd be interested in the Pro too but I'm not going to spend over $500 just to find out if it would be adequate for my use or not. I ordered something else instead and when I recieve and install it I'll post up my experience, good or bad, it'll probably take a few weeks.

I did end up buying one of these. Weighs almost 4# which is heavier than I would have preferred but it has a very solid feel to it. There a few versions of this type friction drive that I have seen on Ebay and AliExpress. Mine has an interesting control which not only has a thumb throttle but 5 cruise control settings and brake cutoffs whereas the other common control only appears to consist a thumb throttle. The servo clutch seems to work well providing adequate pressure on the tire but I've only test fitted it on a bike while on a stand so I don't have any idea of actual performance at this point. I'm cautiously hopeful that it will provide better assist than my Qiroll Mute Plus.

Let us know the speed, hill climb performance and battery compatibility. Waterproof?

It's IP67 rated which seems pretty good for this type device.
I'll post up my impressions, good or bad (hoping for the former).
Any luck yet with the new system? Love the electric servo. I had a little more luck with my flex after but still working on it. The switch is a real pain, you guys think a simple toggle to keep it on could work....I hate holding it down
