Real competition from the new Trek Allant+

I am happy with my 2016 Turbo X (hub drive), but if I needed a new bike, this would be pretty competitive and definitely worth a look:

The sweet spot seems to be the $4200 "8" model with built in rack, fenders, lights, etc. 46 lbs. and tubeless-ready rims (a must for my next ebike).

If 46 lbs was a real weight, the competition would be real . . . but the "8" you buy will be much heavier.

See the Trek website.

I’m getting an Allant 8+. I have literally just received the news from my bike shop that my 2018 Vado 4 has a cracked frame and needs replaced entirely under warranty. Absolutely fed up with the shoddy quality of this bike. Time to try Trek!
