Raleigh 2016 Tekoa iE - surge and lurch?

Hello all,

I recently acquired a new Raleigh 2016 Tekoa iE and have been riding it on trails and roads for the past few days. I am wondering if my bike is operating properly and would welcome other owners' reports. What happens is that the motor will often just cut out causing me to actually be somewhat thrown forward off the saddle. This occurs at all speeds and assist levels and is most noticeable on the flats.I have tried to keep my cadence as steady as possible but even if I am spinning a low gear or pushing a higher gear the motor will just stop its assist at the most unpredictable times! It will then momentarily startup again throwing me somewhat backwards as the power is applied again. This annoying surge and lurching occurs while a regular cadence is maintained and the terrain is level. I can't predict why this is happening or when it will happen and so I'm would like to know if the system is malfunctioning? Anyone know?

You definitely have to bring it back to the place where you got the ebike and have a warranty work done. One thing quickly comes to my mind is loose connection. The brake cut off switch maybe over sensitive and needs adjustment. Another thing that I would think of but unlikely, is the battery. My old battery would give an uneven discharge.
