Racktime bag gripes.

I decided to take advantage of the Racktime rack on my Vado 4.0. I bought a nice Heda pannier to use for my daily commute. I used it for about a month of daily commuting without any issues and then I started seeing all kinds of small things pop up. Seams were starting to tear, holes were appearing, and the stitching on the part that holds the bag and keeps it from flapping around came undone. When it came undone, the corner of my bag got caught in my spokes causing a catastrophic explosion that destroyed my work computer, 2 spokes, and bent the arms of the rack itself so bad that it misaligned the rear fender bad enough where I don't ever think it will be straight. I'm taking my rear wheel in today to see if it needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I'm really frustrated with this "premium" brand right now and wish I would have just gone with a tried and true brand.

Very sorry to hear!
My Racktime Lightit that came standard on my Allant+7 is doing great after 1500 miles. The Racktime Odin bag with fold-out side pockets is working well, with no holes or seam failures.

These ones from BikeSmart.com are nice! They are inexpensive and last. I have had my pair for three-years. I cut off the shoulder strap. They clip on and off the bike and have a padded laptop pocket and places for pens and keys. Lots of pockets.

I'll have to take a look at these. It sounds exactly like what I am looking for. Thanks.

Expensive but worth the money. They're perfect for the Vado Racktime racks on our Vados. Not all Racktime racks are designed the same. I believe ours has a 20 kg limit and the single bar to attach pannier. The problem with other panniers they're not designed for our rack. These are expensive but they have less expensive versions that attach in the same way. Except for these you don't need a tool to adjust the points of attachments. They're built to keep the pannier out of your spokes.

I always trusted my laptop and clothes to an Ortlieb pannier. I also used a secondary strap from the handle to the rack. A couple of times I was in a hurry leaving work and I did not completely lock both top latches to the rail leaving one hooked but not latched closed. The secondary loop kept the bag attached to the bike instead of hanging by one hook or worse falling off into traffic. They are also rain/water proof which is a requirement.
