I am sorry if this question has been asked before but I a new here and just purchased an Lectrike 2.0 Step-Thru and would like to know if there is any kind of simple Am-FM

preferable digital radio with an external speaker which I can attach to and will fit bike so that I can listen to news, ballgames, discussion, music, etc. while riding and if

so the brand and model name and where it can be purchased.

Any battery powered radio should be able to be attached to your ebike's handlebars with many available generic mounts.

Thanks.

Do you know of any that are particularly good, not too big, don't weigh too much and are reasonably priced?

The cheapest and the lightest radio will be the one included for free with your Android phone :). FM only, no data required. You'll have to plug the earbuds even if you listen to the speaker, they act as antenna. Phone speaker is terrible for music but fine for news.
Decent quality pocket radio won't be too cheap, think to spend $30-50. I liked this one Sangean pocket radio FM, AM, plus a few local TV channels. A "ok" speaker for a pocket radio, through the headset it sounds much nicer. 2AAA batteries don't last long on speaker.

Thanks for your response.

I am well aware of mini transistor am-fm digital radios and over my life have compiled quite an extension of them.

In fact, when I go jogging, I simply put one in the front pocket of my running tee shirt and extend the little earphone into my ear and listen.

For biking though I am looking for a small radio which can be snapped on or attached to the handlebars.

There are some used analog Archer radios from the 70's/80's or some leftover pricey new ones from that era with an external speaker which fit what I am looking which I may purchase

if I can't find something newer.

I definitely am not looking for one like Bluetooth ones and or fancy speakers, but rather a newer model with a simple on-off switch with volume control, digital AM-FM if possible, small and which

easily attaches to the bike.

Frankly I am surprised that it taking this long to find one and/or if one is available.

Thanks again for your opinion and ideas!!!

Sangean DT-800YL AM / FM / NOAA Weather Alert Rechargeable Pocket Radio (Yellow)

What have you looked at? It is difficult to read your mind about what you want and what you have considered(?) There are hundreds of radios that satisfy your stated requirements.

In all due respect, I don't agree at all about there being hundreds of radios that meet my requirements otherwise I wouldn't have posted the thread!!
I actually spent a number of hours at least checking all over the internet before I even started the thread.
Actually, there was/is one Sony digital bike radio which meets all my requirements ad needs but for reasons unknown was discontinued a number of years back.
There are some way overpriced used-ones available as well as a few new ones at total ripoff prices!!
Anyways thanks for your concern, and if you see, read or hear of something I might be interested in, feel free to post.

You might want to take a look at the JBL Wind 2 (round shape) or JBL Wind 3 (rectangular shape) bluetooth speaker with FM digital built in. (Sorry, no AM). But if you need AM you could use your smartphone and connect to the bluetooth function. I have a JBL Clip 3 bluetooth speaker similar in size/shape to the Wind 2 and the speaker sound/volume is excellent. Here’s a couple of links:

NextRadio Free Live FM Radio

Thanks for both responses but as stated before:

1) I have several am-fm digital radios which are smaller and thinner than the ones you displayed ad which I always put in my shirt pocket when I jog.

2) I want something SMALL that I can attach to the handlebars of a bike while pedaling and with an external speaker with am-fm digital capability.

So far all I have found in his regard is a Sony digital radio which was discontinued for some reason around 10-15 years ago and which is ay overpriced

for either a new or used one and Archer nondigital radio which attached to handlebars and is still available for a much more reasonable price.

I am probably going to purchase the latter soon if I cannot fid anything better!!

Again thanks for your help!!

This was what I've been doing too, until had lost interest in endlessly repeating news and music of not my choice :). Simple, comfortable. Rather than a 4-5W handlebar speaker loud enough to use on a motorcycle (yes, it can be that loud).

With a BT speaker I can listen to more than a radio. Pod casts, my music, and any sound file. Audio books too!

It sounds like your main goal is to annoy the people around you. If you want to listen to the radio while you ride what difference does the form factor make? An app on your phone and buds in your ears and you have what you're allegedly after without imposing your listening choices on the people around you.

Maybe you can find some sort of pannier mounted sub-woofers that will shake the bikes around you and knock over pedestrians as you pass them. Fire, dude.

I hope you find what you want but I hope you don't ride where I have to listen.

TT

I am not trying to annoy anyone but am simply am asking a legitimate question which in essence amounts to find a small DIGITAL type Am FM radio which attaches to the handlebars

of my bike with a simple external speaker like the old Archer one which I have pictured before and/or which acts as the original Sony Digital Am-FM radio which was

exactly what I was looking for but for reasons unknown was discontinued a10-15 years ago and not has a very hefty price if one wants to buy a new one or an even

note.

If that bothers you, well it is your problem, buddy, not mine!!

I use mine occasionally when a am sitting quietly away from potentially irritating others. When riding I want to have full attention and enjoy the ride. Kind of off topic but these days there's an increase in rude neighbors. The one that on a nice cool night when it's nice to open the house windows for fresh air and the neighbors have a fire pit polluting my indoor air.

I know him... He's also playing his radio loud and his car typically has a pos alarm system that's constantly going off.
That said I often ride listening to music just loud enough to overcome ambient noise... That is unless a great song comes on which I will play a little louder, but at that point I'm typically above 18mph due to the adrenaline rush.
