Protecting bikes on Saris Bones carrier? Bike fit behind front seat in Honda Accord?

I have always managed to transport my bikes inside my vehicle. I hate the idea of bike being exposed to the elements, especially for a Dec trip from MN to FL as it could be snow/ice/salt etc.

--Any ideas to totally wrap the bike in "something" for protection? Who sells that wide clear plastic wrap that I've seen used to enclose pallets of boxes? Could you wrap it like a mummy with that clear wrap?

--On a Saris Bones rack, would a Stromer mount fine with front wheel and battery removed/ placed in trunk? That would be less weight and smaller profile, BUT weird balance..

--- In a Honda Accord, would a Stromer fit with front wheel removed, upside down, behind front seat? That's how I carried road bikes for years but is it too big? Anybody use this method?

I thought there was some kind of 'bike luggage' I have seen somewhere, perhaps not made for E-bikes though. I would think you could have something custom made for transport...

You can find the shrink wrap to wrap around your bike at home depot in the moving section. I'm sure there are many other places to get it as well.

Weight, I believe, wont be a problem. After removing the battery from my Felt Sporte 85HP, it probably weights in at about 40 lb. I've transported that, along with my wife's 25 pound Raleigh on my Saris Bones on the back of my Accord or Camry for hundred mile excursions, many times without incident.

Regarding exposure to the elements, I've also investigated options for my own bike. The encapsulated protection I've found would only be good in a hitched bike rack configuration where there's no cradling of the top tube like on the Saris.

When I carry my bikes on long Winter trips, I use this product from Uline:

The 6 mil reinforced sheeting is resistant to tears caused by wind. At $80 for an 8' wide 100' long roll, it isn't cheap but then neither is your e-bike. I bought a roll 5 years ago and take at least one winter trip per year. So far, I've used about 25% of the roll.
I cut a 10' long piece off the roll and drape it over the bike & rack. I then tape the bottom and sides closed with duct tape. Takes about 5 minutes. Make sure you cut a second piece to take with you for the trip home. The wrap is sometimes damaged when removing.

I don't bother doing this during warm weather since my bikes are fairly weather resistant. The big enemy during the winter is road salt which quickly corrodes exposed metal. Disk brakes are of particular concern.

I found some 8" wide clear plastic wrap that stretches 200% and sticks to itself.

Maybe some bubble wrap over sensitive areas and microfiber cloth under where the bike contacts the holder pads and then...... wrap the whole bike in that clear stretch plastic.
Then some reinforced strapping tape to guard against wide flapping etc.

?? How can you help protect the car paint, where the 6 Saris Bones metal clips hook around the edge of the trunk?? Those trunk seams are very narrow on a Honda Accord---the bare clips just fight into the crevice so not much room??
Small piece of cloth or of a chamois or what might work?

Note: it's been very dry lately but the day we leave on our 1600 mile trip is supposed to be in the middle of a 3 day snow storm with up to 10" of snow
I need to make my bike totally snow and SALT resistant!!!

I haven't had any issues with the 4 clips chipping the paint. Under the 2 large rubber feet, I put a folded up (size of feet) piece of dripping wet "Bounty" paper towel after cleaning the area they're to be seated upon. Works well for me.
