Just finished a 40km ride, and am enjoying a Shandy.

That's beer and some sort of juice or soft drink. In this case it's an MGD with Lemonade/Ginger Ale. Sometimes I'll have a Radler, which is essentially the same thing but European of origin.

What's your favorite post ride tipple?

Radler for me, beer and grapefruit juice over ice. Very refreshing and cold!

Speaking of Radlers, I found this a couple of weeks back bought with some hesitation. But I loved it. Went back to the store looking for more and all gone. And they aren't reordering so I don't think I'll be getting any more. It was great while it lasted:

Summer Shandy is always a great choice post-ride... Cheers! ;)

I got the taste for some local NEIPAs last year while staying in beautiful Central Vermont, in fall no less. That particular label is hard to come by here in Australia. Fortunately, local NEIPAs, IPAs and APAs are in plentiful supply.

After a ride? Water. But later, Belgian ale! Leffe is not expensive, but really flavourful, as is New Belgium Trippel. Nothing out of cans though. You do know that cans are lined with plastic, right? Do we really need more plastic in our bodies or our ecosystem?

Bit of a cooler, wetter day, so post ride today I thought I'd go for more substance. A Scottish Dark beer that I fell in love with a number of years ago. Saw it on the menu at the restaurant at the Tate in London and with a name like that I had to give it a go!

I'm fond of a number of things, but only drink once a year; as stands I am couple years behind. Maybe July.
Jiaogulan tea is definitely an acquired taste.

Today's a little warmer here and as such, I thought an icy beverage would be nice after a big glass of H2O. This drink, a Gewurztraminer Slush, is from one of my favorite hotels which is in Kelowna BC, Canada. The Eldorado hotel has a vintage feel to it and eating dinner on the boardwalk outside on a summer's evening is a fabulous way to enjoy time with friends. I can't wait until we can get out there and do this again with friends and colleagues.

I usually triple the ingredients, maybe a little lower on the simple syrup and a little higher on the lemon juice, then make 2.

It's worth trying, and if you haven't any Gewurztraminer, try any flavourful white wine.

Enjoy!

Amino Vital

Produced by Ajinomoto, the largest amino acid suppliers in the world.
Their amino acids are used by many supplement companies.

I could use some rapid recovery. I´ve been riding 7 days a week the last 1800 mi., but of late I´ve
had to give my old carcass occasional days off due to muscular depletion.( pain in the butt & elsewhere)
All my old fractures are catchin´ up with me. Iĺl have to give this stuff a try. A tbl. spoon of maca in my
covfefe has done wonders for many issues, but I need all the help I can get.

Today's ride was with my longest term friend, who was riding his semi hacked mountain bike. It was great to get out with, and even greater that he brought a beer sample from his local microbrewery.

It was a Wit, and hit the spot after a big glass of water.

To be honest with you, I always finish my ride with a cup of Nespresso first. Typically, I return from my rides by car, so the "post-ride beer" is not an option. Yet, I happen to visit one of two craft-beer stores around to bring a bottle or two of good Polish craft ale home. Here are these I recently have had:

I love Double or Imperial IPAs with >7% ABV; or, Imperial Stout. I make an exception for Black IPA (Cascadian Dark Ale) that is less strong but very tasty. West Coast IPA can do. Unfortunately, the trend in the last couple of years has been to brew New England, Northeast, Juicy, Hazy, Fruity, DDH, TDH, QDH etc ales which are less bitter. Fewer and fewer choices for me. And my diabetes only lets me have a single bottle of ale after the daily ride.
