Not sure how you are coming up with these averages…
I’ve been commuting on my ST5 for over +5400 miles. My lifetime HR average with the ST5 is 120bpm. I record religiously. Average speed on my 7.5 miles each way commute is about to 17mph. I almost never use the small cog. My average max HR is about 150bpm.
I love the ST5 and it has made me very strong. I would buy the ST7 when it becomes available.

The pinion cables? Would be a travesty if there was no electronic shifting. I would buy the R&M Rohloff e14 instead.

The gear shifter cable on the handle bar needs replacing ever year. The electronic shifting eliminate that but you need to bring to dealer for a oil change. The oil change on regular gearbox is easy and straightforward. I hope someone makes a tutorial for the st7.

There is no average. These are the technical specifications of the ST7 drivetrain. With this, you can calculate the gearing and cadence or speed.
The easiest way to do so is to put the values in the gearing calculator on the Pinion website.
Or you make a test ride on the ST7. This particular view show also the wrench icon. It indicates that it's time to bring the ST7 for regular maintenance.

I placed my order for the ST7 today with both the seatpost and front suspension. My dealer here in San Francisco told me it will likely arrive in early January. I haven’t actually seen one yet other than in videos. I’m hoping the gold color isn’t too ostentatious! I love my ST5 and my main reasons to upgrade are the larger battery and the electronic pinion gearbox with gates carbon belt drive. More range and lower maintenance are a great combination.
I’m hoping the weight is similar to the ST5. These high end eBikes are a handful to get onto a bike rack. They need to trend toward being lighter, not heavier.

Pinion said the E-shift one is different. When your deal gets one could you ask them to demonstrate how it's done?

Yes, from horn to piezo-sound. There is no more space for a real horn.
I add the specs for Europe, formally, the US might be somewaht different.

Pinion recommends an oil change once a year or every 10,000 kilometers. You can purchase the oil change set from a Pinion specialist dealer or online.
It's heavier about 82lbs... That huge battery accounts a lot for that.
Congrats on your order. I hope that you get your bike in January as promised by your dealer. Just know that Stromer has been plagued by a number of supply chain issues. Multiple shipping delays most notably due to Bluebrake ABS fitted on ST3 pinion models. Hopefully you won't have to be too patient... I have ordered the Dark platinum w/ seatpost and fork suspension. (announced for early January but expected maybe February or March) fingers crossed...

I'll begin my weightlifting fitness program right away so I can bulk up and lift the 82lb bike onto my rack and bring it home from the dealer

Speaking of the ABS braking system... do you know if the ABS is included with the USA version of the ST7? In some articles I read they mentioned ABS is an optional feature, but it wasn't listed as an option when I ordered it.

You might have to ride your bike home or put it in the trunk as it’s weight exceeds the max capacity per bike of most bike carrier ( eg. thule easyfold). Even with the battery removed….Congratulations to you, too! I hope we both enjoy our ST7s.

Loved your post. I was trying to decide whether to save up for an ST7 or buy another ST2s. I have 20,000 miles on my ST2s and since they don't make them any more, good ones are hard to find. Your argument nailed it for me: I bought another ST2s. What I paid it would have been the sales tax for an ST7. For what it's worth, I also have an M1 and an ST5. Don't tell my other bikes this. . . but I love my ST2s the most. Thanks again for doing your research and posting. It really helped me!!!Mediocre effort from Stromer ! If it was carbon fiber frame maybe a satisfactory rating.
Add a 24/7 oncall ebike mechanic sent by helicopter anywhere in the continental Us+ a spare St7 (once the current one breaks down) and it may be a very tempting toy.
M1 Spitzing did this project with a better ebike (minus the Gps and Omni) almost 6-7years ago, so this is garbage priced @ 13.000€ or 15.000€ but 1 euro=1$ >that is a better deal for the US customer.
Here's the issue:
The era of hamster pedalling is coming close to an end. What i mean is most of u are pedalling below 75rpm > ur HR will be at about 55-60% of max. HR which is almost the same if u were just standing on the saddle and enjoying the ebike using a throttle NOT bothering with the unecessary mental efforts :
-shifting gears
-pedalling
- remembering the gears u were in
- wasting ur energy hamstering on the crankset
Do u realize u guys hv. to pedal almost 135.000 rotations for every 30hours of riding ??????

Wooow that is a Monumental waste of energy....just to help out the 850watts motor when we could have just begun with a 1kw /1.5kw motor and no PAS.
Sure, w/o PAS, we need a BIG battery(1.5kw at least and at least a 1kw motor but that can finally enable an ebike to take over the roads here in US and elsewhere too.
All those mental efforts take away or diminish the most IMPortant , which is paying attention to the road cond./drivers and enjoying the scenery
The ST7 would be maybe 15-20b "Feuerzeug" once they make it of carbon fiber , add throttle and get rid of :
- chain, casette, RD, FD, shifters, crankset, BB , cables, and of course the heaviest part , the Pinion gearbox
The 1.4kw battery would be a great start , maybe a slightly more powerfull motor -1kw, that would add another 1lb , 80lb-20lb+1-= 61lb really nice and light emoped
But adding a throttle and w/o pedals we go into the "illegal" moped stuff....
