Good afternoon, I just purchased a two year old DJ mountain ebike, unfortunately it’s mostly a basket case, The main problem at this time it’s missing the torque arm spacers, washers and axle oem nuts, any suggestions how to find correct parts?

Welcome to the site.
DJ is not a widely publicized brand. Is this a hub motor?
Washers for hub motors can be made from fender washers by elongating the hole with a triangle file and a round file. don't waste any money on the toys that resemble files from harbor freight. Or other purveyors of ****ese toys. Get nicholson from the hardware store. If your hardware store has turned into a toy store, order from mcmaster.com . Also a source of fender washers if you don't have a fastenal nearby
A vise is useful for holding the washers while you modify them. Also a bench to screw the vise down to.
Spacers are just fat washers. They can be replaced by multiple washers. If you need the tang to fit in the slot for anti rotation, grind down the outside of a fender washer and leave the tang, which you can bend over.
If the nuts are 12 mm or 14 mm coarse or fine, you can get those at the auto supply or motorcycle parts shop.
If the nuts are 14 mm 1.75 thread, which mine were, I found those one time at a local motorcycle supply. However, the next time I needed some: (the old ones were 30 miles away) the motorcycle shop had been bought out by a national chain, who deleted all that unprofitable trash.
So I made the nuts out of 12 mm nuts by drilling out with a 1/2" drill and tapping with a 14 mm x 1.75 tap from victornet.com . I keep two nuts on my motor counter torqued to prevent loosening. As the threads are rather shallow, the counter torque can only be about 30 ftlb. Works though, my motor doesn't come loose.

Depends on your financial situation. For me, I would take the bike to the closest e-bike shop that will work on it and let them handle the hassle. Of course if you like solving problems and spending time doing that...have at it. Jo always has good suggestions.

I do appreciate both replies, since I brought this bike cheap and being retired I thought it would be a interesting project. The closest ebike shop is about forty miles from me, I was looking for suggestions of a parts source

My closest ebike shop in the next state sells pedego only. This is not a pedego. A customer reported the owner knows nothing about bike maintenance.
There is a multiple brand shop south of Chicago, only 160 miles from here and 25 miles off the bus routes up there. I parked my car in 2008.

Hi Terry, can't promise you that your DJ uses them. but every ebike motor I have seen (about twelve of them) uses M12 x1.25 thread. Some of the bigger motors use M14.

They also include the oblong washer mentioned by indianajo, plus the lawyer lip washers. The latter lgo into the slot on the frame and help counteract twist. The oblong washer also resists spin.

The M12-1.25 was not available at Ace hardware or Home Depot when I Iast looked.

This combo is priced at a jaw dropping price of $23 on ebay (where I also got the above image).

I have bought the nuts on amazon. They were $10 a few years ago, Now you gotta pay $14.

This is not the best torque arm, but it does work. You probably don't need it on a production ebike.

I was able to translate the upc label on the rear hub, and google it and found out the size of the axle. 12mmx1.25, I really appreciate your input and help and going to order from eBay

30 years ago, people I knew with relatives in China would tell stories about how it was everyman's dream to get some money together and start a little shop, usually a bike shop. Buy the parts and assemble bikes.

There's more than one bike factory, but now they want to get some money together and sticker up generic ebikes.
