New Front RIM

Hi All

Had an accident the other day: someone pulled out in front of me without looking, hit my handlebar. I hit a fence post and went straight over bars.

Needless to say, wheel is trashed. Took it to LBS. They said they can't source a new wheel. I presume I just need a rim. Anyone know where I can get one or what brand they are (and specs)

I don't get why they couldn't. I don't know wheels well but it looks pretty standard. The thicker spokes? Hard to find a QR disc brake rim? (QR shouldn't be used with disc brakes anyway. Makes you adjust the brakes every time you take the wheel off, among other problems).

Not sure. I'm afraid I don;t know too much about bike specs. just a rider

That's like the most standard wheel size ever.

It does have the 100mm QR hub right?

I think that's what it is

Based on your specs, you should be able to replace the entire wheelset for under $80... take a look at the Hybrid 700c CafeDisc Pro.

Is there any damage to the rim, hub or spokes. If not have you tried to true the wheel

Thanks for reply. I don't see any damage. Truing it is way beyond my skill level. Will try a different LBS today. I'm a heavy rider, so want to be sure it's super strong. Would rather buy new wheel/rim if there's any question about damage to rim/wheel
