New ebike

I just joined this site. I rode my Ancheer ebike from Amazon today for the first time. Love how I can ride up hills so easily. Any advice for me as a new, senior rider?

Ancheer is like a Sophomore first sipping sweet $2.00 blush. Good for now. Your tastes will change with time to the more subtle and complex and wonderful. It is a start. That is good. Please be careful when charging an Ancheer HB bag to prevent a fire loss. Put it on a Christmas tree timer when charging. This BMS is run by the limited LED display. Welcome to the EBR community! This is what an electric bike looks like. Yes, it is electric, a mid-drive. See the blue display? Better bikes do not fold. And do not look electric. They have no visible wires with superior ride feel. This one is class 3, 28 Mph and lives in the hills of San Francisco. See the wires?

Love the look of the Marin bike Pedaluma! How much does it weigh. Looks a bit like my Gravel Roadster from Ride 1 Up. Does it have a throttle?

Thank you! Like a car you push your foot down to accelerate. It measures pedal pressure 1,000 times per second and amplifies that signal as much as you want, up to 400%. The throttle is hidden in the pedals. There is no lag or surge, it just matches your input. For each buck you place on the table the dealer gives you back 4. Every time,1,000 times per second. That bike has heavy tires. It is 37 pounds.

Any advice for me as a new, senior rider?

I'm age 71.
I don't mind falling, I bounce. But I don't like ripping, burning or breaking myself. I've hit my chin on road 6 times in my life, and now wear a Fox Rampage helmet with chinguard. If your neck is not strong there are lighter models, even one from Fox now. Search term is "downhill mountain bike racing helmet". I don't race but most bike shops & suppliers think a helmet is a slitted sliver of plastic only on the top of the head.
I wear long sleeve polyester clothes with long pants, mechanic's grade, which prevented road burn & cuts in a 25 mph spill. Mostly dickies. There are mechanic's thickness 100% cotton tops available for summer persperation from Red Hat. I wear poly $1 gloves which prevent road burn there too. I wear shoes. I'm not fashionable, but I'm pain free most days. I carry a $1 poncho for serious rain.
If I'm near trucks throwing gravel I wear wrap around sunglasses or safety glasses. $1 ones should be fine. On the sidewalk of busy streets glasses keep tree branches out of my eyes.

Great advice! Thanks. I'll be 75 in a few days. This bike is so much heavier than my very old Trek single track. That's my biggest concern.

1) Ride safe, be extra alert. get a mirror if you don´t have one. 2) Preflight check your bike´s tires,
brakes, spokes b4 rides. It can be a very long walk home or worse if you don´t.

These gloves are from the auto parts store. They are washable, have finger tip protection and you can use touch screens. Cars pay attention the the high vis.
