New ebike

1) Ride safe, be extra alert. get a mirror if you don´t have one. 2) Preflight check your bike´s tires,
brakes, spokes b4 rides. It can be a very long walk home or worse if you don´t.
We used to say check your ABCS -
Air in the tires?
Brakes working?
Chain need adjustment?
Spokes loose ?

Now go ride !

Those ones only come in large. Take a look for something like these: https://www.zoro.com/ironclad-hi-vi...ngle-layer-polyester-iex-hvp-02-s/i/G1611125/

Just ordered. Any ideas on making my brake grip smaller?
Is it the reach that is too far away from the grip? You cannot just replace them with low reach levers because your bike has cutout wires. You will need to ask a friend to help you bend them in slightly with a length of pipe. It cannot be much because you need the pull. The brakes can then be tightened up so the clearance is the width of a business card on each side.

Chain need adjustment? back in the days of a single speed ya.
Never even rode a single speed that I can remember ... a full 10 speeds with shifters on the downtube was my first love. Until I shifted the front gear ring and the chain fell off. Repeatedly.

Just now Spring rain, as the sky went black, a shaft of light cut under laden clouds, illuminating peach blossoms.

Visibility is extremely important if you're "sharing" with cars. I have a florescent yellow helmet, florescent yellow gloves, and wear a (yep - you guessed it) florescent striped construction/road crew vest over my jacket when I ride. Plus flashing light on my helmet and rack bag... And I'm still a nervous wreck when I have to ride with traffic 😱😱😱. Fortunately, it's not much of a problem on my island, but in the Piedmont Triad of NC, ooooohhh buddy!!!

And a tall florescent flag on a trailer following you around doesn't hurt either.

I can have someone do this. I just have small hands and short fingers. Thank you, again.

It is as if the cars will know if you are timid. They have a sense of it like dog packs. Not being meek is a significant safety matter. Be gentle when applying the pipe to the levers. Different alloys have very different qualities. The cheaper more pure alloys can easily bend. The expensive ones will snap. Assess. If it yields under slight pressure you are good.

I will show this to my friend.

The Saudi plan just vanished. Weird. Okay, the Green community is sham. It is green washing in the worst from. Incremental movement in the right direction is fine. Global warming may make the Saudi peninsula wet again. A swamp. There are many fossils of alligators there. That wet carbon rich material is what made for Saudi oil. Monarchy must go.
