NMC is half the weight of li-ion batteries. For a heavy, fast bike NMC drops the weight significantly and higher voltage goes faster. The current tech makes little sense for fast bikes. Just look at ZERO motorcycles, they use NMC!

You could buy the One.15 in Germany and fly the bike back to USA. Germany is 5 years ahead of the USA. Car is king is USA.
yes Mercedes drives unlike any other car. probably cost a ton. maybe if I directly talk to grace, they may be able to get me one. persuasion ;)

yes but sometimes things are the way they are for a reason. the thing I don't understand about the 15 is why the battery is exposed

No way. I know the USA distributor. I talked with him. Europe is crazy about eBikes. USA demand is so low that it makes little sense. They sell all they can make in Europe.

I do not get it either! The downtube is so big. Why did they not simply put it inside? I think they have heating issues with the 2kW motor. Draws too many amps. Something is obviously very wrong. Such a beautiful bike, marred by a poorly placed battery. They must hate that themselves.

NMC allows for a smaller, lighter motor.

I agree. They easily could have fit it inside of the downtime, but their logic is: --If we make the battery exposed, it probably will cool faster-

The motor might not overheat. think about the motors in a tesla. those are huge and draw tons of current. point it, the motor might get really hot in an incline, but the air will cool it when going downhill.

Yeah, may not be the motor. But something is wrong with the battery. I think the motor tech is so far ahead of battery tech, that they cannot reasonably make up the difference. You cannot convince me that they actually wanted to put the battery there. Yuck!

well, maybe they wanted to go for some solid tech. something that has been tried, and has no problems. Maybe it isn't the latest and greatest, but at least there are no fire problems, ect... right?

that's the grace one, we are talking about the newer model one.15
I think it uses the same frame. They have to set up an assembly line to manufacture it. They want to keep the re-tooling to a minimum.

I have got to admit that the One.15 is worth waiting for. I just have to be patient. I want to replace my car, so I need an eBike that is made to be DOT roadworthy. I just takes time!

I am willing to wait. If you want a Grace One Pro today, you could gamble on replacing the motor in a year. There is a 1 horsepower difference. So, you might not be able to upgrade. The axle may not be wide enough.

Notice the One.15 does not have a gear cassette. I doubt an 11 gear cassette would fit with disc brakes and a giant motor!

I think you would be ok with the One Pro. The advantage is the One Pro is still a moped.

The One.15 is Legally considered a motorcycle in CA. It also has a gearbox designed by Porsche engineers, rather than bicycle derailleur. The frame bottom bracket is square for a gearbox, not a chainring. the drivetrain uses a carbon belt, not a metal chain. The frame has monster sized tubes to accommodate a huge battery.

The One.15 just ain't no bicycle, although the visible difference is very subtle.

Lol by our standards it isnt, but they clearly call it a bike on their website. also it appears to be a bike. just one with special components :D

I doubt they would put a prototype on their website without clearly stating that future models may appear different

They try to distinguish it ways that get lost in the German translation e-MOTORbike. That means something in German that does not translate strongly.

The new benchmark.
The Grace ONE.15, with stunning technology and perfect design, moves up a level to a new dimension of riding pleasure: purism in perfection. Powered by a performance that sets new standards for an E-bike and gets the adrenaline pumping.

This was taken directly from their website, they say it sets new standards for an e-bike...
