not in particular, but I do think there are many bikes with Bosh drive that are excellent and that I would not hesitate to buy.
Optibike's mid drive is like 1/4 the size and more powerful than the one from Bosch. I've seen the Bosch drive, and it just seems like a generic thing that people mount on the companies bike. just seems over used. I like the new Yamaha mid drive, but it's not available in the us

I see your point, but I highly doubt that optibike uses low performance batteries. Optibike has won numerous bike races, and everything is built from the ground up. I believe it is safe to assume that they use a good chemistry. It is clear to see where stealth is coming from. they are making a powerful, fun "race bike" that will do pretty much anything. I am looking into the grace one.15. http://electricbikereview.com/commu...5-will-not-be-available-in-usa-for-2015.1528/
I looked at the Stromer in the store today, and it was quite elegant. I just didn't get that "excitement" feeling that I get when I see a stealth bike or Lamborghini for example. Hpc is really a mystery. They have no customers posting videos on them, and a lot of bad rep about posting false specs. yet they have been around for a really long time. That seems like a gamble that I'm not willing to take
Optibike was very embarassed by some amateur who beat OptiBike in the Pikes Peak race on a homemade bike. You should look into it. It is not that Optibike uses anything bad.

NMC is a game changer battery. The only companies that I know who use NMC are Tesla, BMW, the major EV car companies and HPC. NMC is doubling performance at half the raw material cost. NMC can target higher capacity or power, unlike all other Li-ion. The battery is the single biggest total cost, including replacement. You also want 48V to 76V for really high speed.

Sounds impressive but are you aware of any bikes that use this technology

could you explain those charts? is the goal to get a complete circle?
Yes. The name is star plot, which has a long history in the auto industry.

The blue lines are the benefits which are associated with bike features. For example, shocks provide an Ease benefit. Batteries provide an Endurance benefit. Powerful motors provide Excitement benefit. You can make up your own benefit categories. You can associate any of the hundreds of bike features with any benefit.

The white lines are the other half of the equation -- cost, risk and bias. The Cost-Benefit ratio is the relationship that allows you to compare bikes of different cost or risk. You divide the benefit score by the cost score. Everything is rated on a scale from 1 to 5.

It is a way to compare the apples to oranges in the bike world -- in a mathematically correct manner.

Does that make sense? Is it too complicated?

BTW - the Grace One.15 hardtail is the bike I would buy for myself, if the battery had better performance. I suggested the Stromer for you. You might want to look at the Grace One Pro. It has better gears and front suspension.

Thank you. I'll get back to you later, about to go biking. I'll reply to the things in this post in about an hour. thanks

Can't find starplot online, possibly a European company?

Yes, but hpc could be lying. they have a reputation for that
I do not know. They might be importing products that exaggerate specs. I have more trouble with companies that lack a dealership network. Who do I take the bike to for repairs or upgrades? Am I on my own?

Have you considered putting an 8Fun BBS02 center drive Kit in your existing bike. If the bottom bracket is 68 or 73 mm, it will work. I would buy the Kit from HPC to get the NMC battery. 1400W center drive will go very fast!

I have a carbon fiber Santa Cruz Nomad. I wouldn't want to mess it up with a motor!!

So I looked up the grace one pro, it might be discontinued. they don't have it in their website. I also can't find anywhere to buy the grace pro 15

so if I want to get the grace one.15 I need to wait till next year? hmm
Yes. Frustrating. I just cannot find a better bike. I just hope they put NMC battery in it. You have to replace the battery every three years. They can build a much better performer with NMC. I think it is better to wait. I simply see big changes in the next year. Apple is even building an electric car!

You could buy the One.15 in Germany and fly the bike back to USA. Germany is 5 years ahead of the USA. Car is king is USA.
