My Teo out and about in Mississauga.....

First impressions apparently are the most important, so i was told, :Dwell believe you me i am impressed with the overall build of the beast as well as its performance. :D
First time on a bike in a very long time out of shape, over 50 and on a chubby side i was worried that after first couple of kilometers i will get too tired and just quit, well i have experienced something unexpected and surprising to me, just wanted to keep on going just like the energizer bunny...hehehe... i did not want to get off the bike.
Wow what a bike, what a ride @ 36 psi on paved roads or loose gravel and on dirt pathways it feels like it is glued to the surface, it just may be my imagination or too much sunshine and fresh air playing tricks on me but that is my story and i am sticking to it.:p
Now the ugly side, i can not stand the seat:mad:, i have tried adjusting and re-adjusting it and can`t find any comfortable position on it, totally useless for me got to get a better seat... thinking of Sunlite Cloud-9 Comfort Men's Saddle hopefully it will be more cushy for my tush-e.
Front wheel orange reflector went sideways and got ripped off the spoke breaking in half, scared the crap out of me. I was thinking of putting a small zip-tie on them before my ride but forgot to do so, old age i guess....
First official ride took me around Credit river for about 40 km and i had to get off because of the seat, could not handle the torture any longer. Started with 5 battery bars on the display and had 3 bars left when i came back, now mind you the battery was not fully charged since i did not wait for the green light to come on on the charger, too eager to get going...
Brakes are really powerful and you got to pay attention when applying them or risk a quick flight over the handle bar, ok you keep laughing it almost happened to me today, too much breaking power for this old geezer to handle. ;) Must be that red color making it go so fast....
:DOk i will stop rumbling on now and put up some pictures.:D

Reserved for more updates .....may add or delete pictures and/or content.....if not allowed please PM me...

Somehow i decided on a different saddle than the cloud9 and got this one instead, feels a lot better than the original for now, will see how it goes on a longer ride than just around the block. Changed the post quick release to this one for security vs convenience, will carry a set of allen keys anyways so no problem if i need to adjust it.
Got one of these for my cell , no phone in there now since i`m using it to take pictures, and portable power bank/allen keys. Had to get a better light like this one thanks to @america94 for sharing the link, and my shopping included this rack bag as well as this extender bar, still waiting for these to come. Turned the saddle post 180* and now i can feel the telescopic part of it working better than before, anyone has any input about it please chime in.
This will hopefully complete my wish list of add-ons for time being. Here is a few pictures:

Thanks for those 1st impressions.
Quick questions...
1. Did you have screws for the derailleur guard? If so where?
2. Did you stick the top front fender bracket behind the light bracket or behind the fork?
3. Benoit is sending me a Téo sticker for the battery's left side, you should drop him a note too.
4. Plastic reflectors in spoke: useless.
5. Love you Nutcase helmet, ordered a similar one, my old bike helmet is no longer comfortable.

You`re welcome. @Denis Shelston
1. one was holding the fender support and the other was in the frame, look inside the big box it may have come loose
2.behind the light
3.something to ponder about...
4.100% Agree

Lol. I've been called melon head by my mom when I was little.

Not sure I would want one like that ;)

Box is gone, so is screw. Ah well Benoit is sending me one.

We need to have a TÉO TO coffee somewhere, within range of our battery, so we can all make it back in a breeze.

agreed,
401 and Mavis + 40 km that will put me somewhere by Don Valley Parkway if i`m able to get the 80 km out of the battery, how far is it to your place from there?

I'm in North Whitby, village of Brooklin. 42km from 404 and 7.

That could work.

I'm out of town right now, will be back around July 24th. Then I leave again for month on Aug 8th to return in September.

I think September would work best for me, and we'll all get a better feel on our range by then.

Great report @AguassissiM ! 36 psi wow! Whats the max rating on the stock kendas? I'm surprised you say it felt glued to the road. Most reviews I read on them say they don't have good traction at higher psi. Glad you think differently!! Maybe they wont be such a bad tire after all. Bummer about the seat being uncomfortable, can't win em all I guess. Is this your first ride on a bike in a while? or do you ride another often? I know my first few rides of the year on my mtb my butt gets quite sore. Takes a few rides to get used to it. Looks like a beautiful area to ride:) So happy for you that you are enjoying the Teo! :D

:)Great attention to detail @Falken , thanks for catching it 36 psi as if... just went out to the garage and rechecked the pressure and it is at exactly 26 psi as it was yesterday, guess i was more tired than thought after my ride hence the mistype, i`m going to leave it and see how many people will catch it since it says max 30 psi on the tire.
Yes it has been a long while since i took the time to go bike riding, about 20 years and you may well be right that it will take few rides to get use to the seat, will give it few more days and see how it goes.;)
Sometime i do forget how stunning the pathways are around here, mind you it is not Stanley Park but it is ok.
As far as enjoying it i could not believe myself last night after few hours of resting i went out for another ride and the old lady thinks that now i have completely gone bonkers, o well i did not stay @ holliday-inn last night but i did enjoy my ride.:D

Absolutely love how these bikes are affecting you guys:D Reading that your wife thinks you're bonkers for going for another ride and "I didn't want to get off" from more than a few people is exactly how I wanted it to be for myself, and I'm sure it will be!! I went to school in Oshawa. I remember some very beautiful trails going through and around the city. I really love Ontario. I'm sure there would be tons to discover around TO. Very exciting!! Please keep the great pictures coming!!!:D:D

I agree with Falken on the issue with first time rides on the saddle. I used to ride a lot and found first rides always hurt my butt even though I actively cross country ski during winter. I also found most comfortable saddle was a hard plastic one but the plastic itself had some flex to it. The trend these days seems to be a hard base in the saddle with padding on top; maybe not the best way to do it. The Brooks saddles are more like my old plastic one and rely on flex in the leather for comfort. They are expensive however and I understand that they need break-in before they're comfortable.

@america94 I did forget to Thank You for the inspiration and all the info about TEO , honestly if it wasn`t for your initial mention about it (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) i may have missed it .
:DThank You Sir.:D
@tarhead yes i do agree with you after reading few other places about fresh riders complaining about same pain i felt yesterday, and will give the saddle few more days to see if it stops being a pain in my ...o_O
On a side note, does anyone have any idea why some of my pictures when uploading them will come up with an error:
The uploaded file is too large.

Here are just a couple of additional tips on bike fitting from old Hank. The distance from the nose of the saddle to the handlebars should be equal to the distance from your elbow to your fingertips. To set the saddle height put a crank arm parallel to the seat tube in the down position. You need to sit square on your saddle and put your heel on the pedal that is down parallel to the seat tube. Your leg should be straight. You will probably need somebody to hold the bike while you do this. Another thing to keep in mind is that many bike fitting techniques are geared towards the "back parallel to the ground" position favoured by racers and high performance cyclists. There may need to be adjustments made based on the more upright position on the Teo.

Great report and pictures @AguassissiM ! I have a friend in Montreal who took delivery of his Teo bike July 3rd. On his first ride, the front reflector flew off and shattered just like yours. He also lost a screw on the rear fender - the one that screws right above the tire, so perhaps pay attention to that one as well. :)

I am not close to my bike, and can't look, but me thinks it's a pain or impossible to get at that screw under the fender, without removing the rear wheel.. geez

100% agree with @AguassissiM on your first comment! @america94 YOU ARE THE MAN when it comes to promoting, helping, listening, answering questions promptly...the list goes on and on. You may have even taken a couple measurements in there somewhere;). Many thanks from me as well!!! Like I've said before, if it wasn't for you I'd be riding a volt bike or the m2s r750.

As far as your photo's go @AguassissiM , I've been trying to follow what Court suggested about uploading them. He mentions it in this post. Maybe that will help.

I'll add my vote to thank @america94 ,aka Stéphane. He has been, and continues to be, a source of knowledge and no BS information on ebikes for me, and many of us it seems.

I did thank him in a few personal messages, but let me take this opportunity to step on the soapbox to announce it in a more public arena.

I am hoping someone at Téo will notice and give him the credit he deserves.

Good communications go a long way in building rapport with potential customers and keeping new customers happy. He is a champion in my book.

Here! Here! All yours!

Actually i pondered on this for few minutes when assembling my TEO and making sure that all the nuts and bolts were snug before my first ride, and took one of my spare allen keys and put a slight bent on it using the vise and brute strength, worked like a charm and now i have a special allen key ;) for those hard to reach places  to tighten any loose bolts.
Just my nickel input since we do not have no cents anymore.

wow, thank you so much you guys, you are making me blush like a little girly! Please know that I sincerely appreciate meeting and knowing you all and am only disappointed we all live so far apart. Since you guys trusted me from the get go, it's only normal for me to want to help out as much as I can and share my new passion (even if, like Stephen King put it years ago, I tend to have diarrhea of the keyboard (and the camera too! - sorry for the long posts sometimes ).

Now if you would all join hands with me for a special prayer for our dear friend Sean - aka @Falken so that he can get his #$%@#@ bikes A. S. A. P.!!!! :):):)

:):):)Agreed :D:D:D @Falken :):):)
