metro plus fork adjustment and maintenance

The fork has some black plastic caps on it, that I am not sure how they come off. Then, I am not sure what is under the caps and what I might do with them. Is there maintenance required? or settings to adjust?
I think this fork is found on other models also.
I am really loving the bike, and want to take care of it. any input will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I was looking at some videos on the Metro+ and saw that the forks are adjustable. One of the videos said they weren't.
