Max charging amps of XP battery?

I have a Grin Satiator battery charger that allows you to set charge profiles. I want to set a profile to charge my battery up to 85% each time to help with longevity. I am trying to figure out what to set the charging amps to. The included XP charger is a 2 amp charger. The Grin charging adapter states that the plug connectors on in frame batteries are usually cheap and should not be charged at more than 4 or 5 amps. Anyone have any input on what would be safe to set the charge amperage to on the XP battery? Thanks!

Contacted Grin Technology concerning the charging amperage and they said that 4 amps should not be a problem, but if I wanted to be safe use 3 or 3.5 amps. I started with 3 amps and tested with my digital thermometer and there was no change in the plug temp. during charging at 3 amps. I will test it on the next charge at 4 amps and let you know what I find.

Tested a full 4 amp charge with the battery out of the bike. The plug and socket started out at 76 degree room temp. After 10 minutes of charging at 4 amps the plug was around 92 degrees and the socket on the battery was 82 degrees. Temps stayed about the same for the complete charge. I will leave the charge amps at 4 amps. The plug is rated for 7 amps so I don't think that little bit of heat rise will harm anything.

Charging at 1 Amp will help 'longevity' as much or more than the 85% setting, keep the cells as cool as possible.
