Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Everything seems to be rolling smooth, but i got modes mixed up, most of the ride was in tour mode not eco. the other 10% was in next mode up. and yes i am fairly heavy at 100kg.
The motor does have a 'tick' which can be felt through the pedals, not sure if this is normal or not. Its more obvious under load like climbing

I don't remember what tour maps to; I removed the screen on mine years ago. The mode you were using is what percentage assist (look in the Giant app, the previous owner may have changed it)? To figure out if something is up with the battery, you kinda have to start by figuring out how much energy the bike was using. If you run the assist high and hammer you can use power up at a shocking rate. I've killed a 375whr battery in like 12 miles before by running assist at 250% and hammering into a headwind. But I've also set eco to 75% and ridden with analog friends in flat terrain and gone almost 50 miles on half a battery.

I will echo Stefan and say the range estimate on the Giant controller was pure fantasy. No idea how its calculated but it was at least double the actual realistic range for me.

No idea on the tick; my motor is butter smooth.

I bought a used 2021 Giant Revolt E+ (500wh), done 2800kms and 94% battery health. Awesome bike but it does significantly less distance on a full charge than the distance estimator on the screen. For example, in eco mode the estimated distance said 140km on full charge, I did a 28km ride with 490m elevation and the battery was at 28% when I got back, 90% of the ride was on eco mode. Is this normal? The speedo also reads about 2km/h faster than GPS. Interested to hear thoughts, I think I might need to get a range extender.
I find the range is usually at least 10 miles (16km) out but that seems way off, 28km should only use a small percentage of your battery! At 94% health your battery should be giving you much more mileage than that, I'm not really sure why you are getting such poor mileage!

I have a 2018 Giant Road E+1 Pro with a 500wh battery and can easily get 50 miles (80km) in eco mode in hilly terrain with my 7 year old battery which is now showing 89% health! Last year I used my then 6 year old battery on a long ride and got over 80 miles (128km) range from it with 3000ft (914m) of elevation gain!

Thanks for the input. I did a flat 24.5km ride yesterday, with 35km/h avg speed, on eco (100% assist) and finished on 68% battery. I guess it's elevation that kills the battery. Still not sure about the motor though, doesn't exactly feel 'butter smooth' but seems to work fine. Need to compare with another giant e+
