Ordered my zen samurai today. Four reasons. NYC requirement that e-bikes be UL certified ultimately means I couldn’t keep using my tsdz2/battery combo (building I live in won’t allow it). The new requirement makes sense to me though I know other opinions will vary. Second, I’m 6’4” and finding a bike that fits has been tough. The XL samurai frame should be just right. Third, zen staff have been terrifically helpful on customizing the order to what I needed and what I didn’t. Lastly, what an amazing sensible transportation machine - e-rohloff, four piston brakes, great suspension system, beautifully designed frame so bike weight relatively light, and UL listed Bosch e- assist system. Should have it in a few weeks and I’ll post on the samurai as car replacement.
