Just ordered a Fold XS for "end of October"

After months of research, mind changes, late nights, and almost every video review on here I have decided to take the plunge and buy my first ebike. I chose the Fold XS because it fit most of my needs while only sacrificing a small amount of wants.

I am pretty excited about it and was hoping for some input on what to expect when it arrives. What was everyone's first impressions good or bad. How was the packaging? And specifically from the Fold crowd, how did it feel to pedal with such a bulky frame? I'm 5'7" and I'm wondering if im going to be hitting my knees against the lock hinge.

Looking forward to some good times with this bike. If only it were October now.

Welcome to the club, I'm waiting for my Fold XS to be delivered tomorrow and hopefully get it up and running by Friday, so I'll fill you in on it, I'm 6'2 and the video i watched the guy was 6'3.So I have heard of people hitting there knee and were somewhere around your height. So I will give you an update on it when I get it together. I seen the bike in person and love the style, and it doesn't look like all the other e bikes.

What carrier was used for shipping? DHL? Actually so long as it's not UPS I don't think I'll worry too much. The wife and I have bad luck with UPS.

Also if anyone out there with a Fold XS or Fold X has successfully attached a child seat anywhere on this bike that would be useful information

I'm waiting for a September delivery of my Fold XS. Just by chance, I've been in contact with the person who did the 39 min. EBR review on the Fold XS. He really likes the bike especially the smooth synchronization between the motor and controller. He liked the Fold XS the most in the folding category. He was actually thinking of buying that model himself. That to me says a lot! He's a really nice person with very good product knowledge

That's great to know! I have watched almost all the reviews on this site. He appears very honest and thorough. That review went a good ways towards helping me make my decision. I plan on doing quite a lot of beach cruising. Also very little hills where I'm from. When you get your bike let me know what you think 👍

Nice,I really liked his video because he said he's 6'3, and I'm 6'2, so he definitely sealed the deal for me, and my Fold XS is out for delivery right now, so probably by this weekend I'll let you guys know how's the bike

I can tell from your message it hasn't been good with them, I'll pray this delivery goes well for you. But I'll tell you with Sondors they are strict with UPS.I tried to redirect my bike to the shop where they put it together and UPS said they have strict orders to deliver to the person buying their products

My understanding, and I could be wrong but FedEx uses independent contractors for their deliveries. I have had much better success with UPS over FedEx. Drivers are friendly and willing to help. A UPS driver in our area stopped by on Monday to deliver a package. I needed to ship something out but did not have the label ready. I asked him how long is he going to be in my area. He gave me his cell number to call him so he can tell me where he's at in his route so I can bring the package to him. It worked out great. Very personalized treatment. They were also very helpful when I had to ship back a bike to Ride1Up. It seems that UPS drivers take a little more pride in their job because of their position in the company.
I guess we all have our stories and experiences, both good and bad with any shipper. I will say, I am happy to hear that Sondors uses UPS. IMO

Thanks for the replies and information. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope the wait doesn't kill me lol. Enjoy the bikes!

Don't worry, you'll be ok,I ordered my bike may 30th for July delivery and got my bike today. I'm pretty sure they're catching up on the orders. You be happy when you see this at your door

Another use for this bike is when your car is in the shop for anything, pull out of the trunk ride home, ride back when it's ready.
Love my fold XS for that. The throttle is great too, so easy when you decide to stop pedaling for a break.

I'm hoping to buy one second hand today. Hope it goes smoothly! Otherwise I'll be in the same boat as some of you with Oct/Nov delivery. I definitely don't want to wait that long as it will be cold by then and the opportunities to ride will be dwindled.

Hope it goes well for you! I'm not thrilled about the prospect of losing out due to the weather. I'll be in a full snow outfit if necessary. Fat tires should do fine in snow right?

That's a great point. That particular scenario won't be helpful to me but my house is far enough from all the good trails and having a 2 year old I needed something I can fit in the back of an SUV with my son's tiny balance bike. The only other option was a heavy duty bike carrier and for an additional $1k it went out of my budget

This wait is killing me, all of my friends are getting their e-bikes and I'm just sitting here still waiting for late Oct delivery

You and me both. I have since cancelled that bike in order to purchase the Sondors LX mid drive with an end of January shipping. It hurts quite a bit. On the flip side my brother in law ordered a Super 73 RX at the beginning of August for October delivery and he just got notified it was pushed back to November. Hang in there 👍
