Just for fun...

I'll try it!

ADDENDUM: Dang, still no thumbnail. In retrospect, I think I used the Share button the first time as well.
Interesting... I noticed that yours has the word "post" in the URL. It looks like it's a "short" but does not seem to act in the same way.
Are you a subscriber to that source?
Shorts show the word "short" in the Url.
Regular vids have no moniker like that at all...

You're right about it not really being a video. Didn't notice that. Thought it was a short.

But I've also had real video links fail to get a thumbnail. I prefer thumbnails.

Hmmm... Do you use a mobile/phone app or browser, or a PC?

All in my Android via the Chrome browser. We should forget this example, as I don't think I've ever linked a YT post before.

I generally link YT videos and shorts using the URLs YT gives me, not from the address bar. Maybe 80-90% get a thumbnail automatically. The rest stay a text link forever. Can't find a pattern to it.

Theyve sussed me

Ya, tell that to my broken wrist! 🤨
Chez, I'm sorry to hear about your wrist but let me tell you something important for the future, something not many people realise. They get their wrists broken when they attempt to support themselves with a hand when falling, broken fingers are common, too. They get their legs (especially the knees or ankles) maimed when they try supporting themselves with a foot during the crash.

The survival technique (with the helmet on!) is to hold onto the handlebar grips with the feet firmly planted on the pedals while spilling. If only doable, twist your upper body to flatly fall onto your back; the head will bang the ground but it is the role of the helmet to mitigate the injury. In such situations, your bike would absorb the most of the beating. (Twisting the body prevents collarbone injuries).

See that short from Chargeride: the man held onto his bike until he was thrown into the air. Even there, he had his arms closely to his body, and he simply did nothing else to save himself.

I'm saying all that because my discipline (gravel cycling) is where any of us meets the Mother Earth once in a while. Injuries are rare. There are many videos from gravel races in which a rider had an Over-The-Bars, then he/she gets up and continues the ride.
---------------
My close female friend got her forearm broken on her first e-bike ride. Her e-bike was stopped by a large dog running under her front wheel. She flew over the bars as if she were a ski-jumper. Could have come out intact but she subconsciously extended her arm to soften the fall...

I hope these remarks may save someone in the future.

I now know where D-ump got his negotiating style. He stole it from my ex.
I always have theorized that it is a New York, New York thing.

Long ago I had a client in NYC. Their primary way of interacting with me was to call me up on the phone and leave me voicemails (I never, ever directly answered their calls) screaming at me and threatening to sue me.

In one memorable incident, they were threatening to sue me because their email server was down. It turned out it was down because one of them unplugged it.

Finally I had to stop working with them and referred all further communications to my Personal Attack Lawyer. I don't know what exactly she said or did but imagined it involved either velociraptors or Seal Team Six.
