It all boiled down to the IZIP Metro

Diane - I agree with Larry. If you have a dealer fairly close I would recommend working with them. There's nothing that can really beat an actual test ride as Larry mentioned. You very well might find that the tires and standard fork mated with the suspension seat post absorb all you need them to.

It certainly is a comfortable ride and as I mentioned earlier it's my girlfriend's favorite :). Regardless of anything you should definitely report back to the forum with your findings and please let us know if we can be of service.

Thanks for the info on the Tahoe Bike Company. I didn't know there was a dealer in range. I'd much rather deal with a bike shop and see exactly what I'm getting than have it shipped and hope for the best.

I'm glad it's easy to add the suspension ... looking at the pictures I couldn't tell because it looks like one solid piece.

I'll let you know how the test drive goes.

Sounds great DianeS! I hope everything would out for you. What a beautiful place to ride an ebike around... I love Tahoe :D

Turns out that the Tahoe Bike Company doesn't have the new models in stock. I did go down there and test rode a couple that they did have, including last years iZip. In the end, I ordered the i3 Metro 2014 anyway, because I know it has adjustable pedal assist and the older model with only one level didn't suit me.

Sounds like it will be in and ready next week. So I get to do more riding around the lake.

Awesome, congrats on deciding on a bike! I agree with the multiple levels of pedal assist being a big upgrade from last year. I'd love to hear how it works out for you once it has arrived.

Tahoe is so beautiful... I think there's an annual ride around the lake? Maybe you can use your Metro and take some great pictures at the next event :D
