I need y’alls help PLEASE

Hey @harryS , please explain, what is "fat biking?" I see folks with fat bikes when I commute and they seem very big/heavy and noisy. What can they do that makes them special?

Yes, they are big and heavy. Sometimes noisy. But the tires can have good traction. So pick a riding situation where that works to your advantage.

Fat biking for me would be packed gravel trails that are wet. Skinny tires dig in and wallow. Also snow covered paths if you have the knobbies. Trouble with the latter is if you're out there when no one else is out, better not fall and can't get up.

Good for irritating the neigborhood dogs. They don't like the howl of the knobby tires. I'd take summer evening rides after dark and hear them barking inside homes as I passed. After I changed to smooth tires, they didn't bark unless I rang my bell.

One of these days, I want to take the fatbike when we visit my friend who has a summer place on Lake Michigan. A nice ride on the beach at sunrise would be the goal.
