Hyper-bike Walmart online

Took delivery of Hyperbike $598.00 last August. Rear hub power and attractive way they built in the battery pack. 700c
I do 5000 miles a year for exercise and errands. I purchased it for days when my routes have highwinds and 5+ miles upwind.

50 pounds. Top speed around 17 mph. It came easy to assemble.
Negative features
Not a quick release on seat post
Saddle was junk and they replaced it.
The City bike version stem handlebar fitting is a single hex machine screw and inferior.
Cheapo pedals which quickly look shabby but function.

All the parts, components fasteners are superior quality to Walmart store bikes except as mentioned above.
It is not the quality of my Trek
Bought a spare battery so I am enjoying power assisted trips in the 30+ mile range.

I have sailed for decades and my top of the line boats had internal halyards. (lines run inside the mast to the top of the mast)
So I think it is slick for a low end bike how they run brake, shift and electrical cables inside the tube.

Bike is not set up to install cages for hydration bottles. I carry 3 bottles in insulated lunch box I hang on the handlebars.
Just for the record, I have 3 29ers farmer powered but will order a Hyper 29er Juice assist because I will also have to 2 spare batteries to take with me.
 
So how many of those 5,000 miles has it been windy and you rode this ebike? Two batteries to go 30 miles?

I swap batteries when I return. Neither one are depleted.
Most days have wind and I don't consider wind a factor to ride or not ride. I do avoid riding e-bike in rain or when I see rain on the maps. I ride other bikes when it is wet. I ride in rain and snow.
 
Nice to hear good things about the Hyper. You can always get a quick release clamp for about $10 on ebay. I wouldn't put $60 pedals on a $600 bike, but I've bought some workable pedals for $25. I usually end up tossing the seat on a new bike too.

I carry tools. The bike tools I have like 3 multitools sets for bikes. I don't move the seat.

Grandad was a banker. He owned a big GM dealership but was not the dealer. The franchise was not in his name. Every year he drove a new Caddy from the lot. Granny could also use a new Caddy every year but she liked her car. The seat was adjusted just right the way she liked it.
 
I hear a ping sound.
Notice a ride later a broken spoke. Call customer service. Yup, under warranty will send me a new rear wheel which includes motor. I ride a lot and had been wondering how long the motor would last. It has internal gears.

It was odd spoke diameter and I replaced it.

You've had it a month, can't think they're going to keep sending you a new motor at that rate until the end of the warranty period, wonder if it happens again in a month if they'll ask you to get the motor respoked or if a bike shop labor rate would cost more than a replacement wheel & motor? Keep posting!

Warranty. If they sell 500 bikes for every bike where they send a new rear wheel assembly it is not bad. The do-it-your self e-bike kits show me a rear wheel may be 35 dollars out of China wholesale.

I owned a cheap Walmart 29er and wore out the rear bearing. It was out of warranty 2 months but they covered it. I ordered another spare rear wheel from them, (Pacific) because it fit my SE Mountain bike and the wheel assembly cost 20 dollars.
 
I just purchased one for a back up of the $1449 dj superbike i had just purchased, seemed reasonable since i was going to shell out $2,500 on just one bike...now i will have 2 different kinds for any situation. Seems to have fantastic reviews for such a cheap ebike.

Interesting thing is they must of updated the model, because mine did come with a quick release.

Bike shops are swamped and scheduled far in advance.
I hear many bike shops do not want to work on e-bikes.
I know 2 major local bike shops that are closed extra days a week and rude to customers because of the coronavirus.
Busy bike shops sometimes also discriminate against bikes they didn't sell.
One bike shop was nasty with me when I went in to buy a tube. The worker actually told me he was saving a 700x38 tube for his customers and wanted to sell me a 700x50 tube.

I was not sure where to post this, as EBR does not have Hyper Forum, but just thought maybe some people might be interested if they wanted to get a spare battery or possibly upgrade one.

What I don't understand is the packaging layout though.
Initially I thought it was 32cell max, but if that's the case, I guess Hyper has 30 cells (10 series, 3 parallel)?
If you replace the cells to Samsung 35E, you can make it 36V 10.5Ah instead of 36V 7.8Ah like stock.

I thought that is the same name that is on the rear hub motor.
My spare battery was 200 dollars and free freight.
