I was at Lille Europa station a couple of weeks ago and there was a place to recharge your phones etc and that was pedal powered.

I've seen some stand alone stationary bicycle/generator devices that some humanitarian groups are supplying places with no electricity. An hour a day pedaling can supply enough juice for their household demands stored in batteries.

700 watts is hard to do for a minute but plenty of recreational riders can doo 200-300 watts for 1+ hours. And some pros can do 400-450 watts for an hour.
