My bike’s display (BH Easy motion) is able to show many parameters and controller temp. Is one of them.
As i often enjoy riding it fast (fast rpm over 75) i started checking out this setting and after 20-30min. Of hard/fast riding(25-29mph) , the temp. Reaches 50-51 degrees Celsius. This i noticed it happens no matter the temp. Outside. Maybe when is really cold (5, 0, or -10) it takes longer for the controller to reach those high temps but i haven’t really payed att. To this b/c i myself wAs too cold to think about it and check it out.
Mostly when i was riding at 5 degrees and up i was also investigating the controller temp. status.
So, what are high temps. For the controller , are 50-60C degrees okay in the long run ? And what ways would be possible to cool it down ?
Why aren’t they made with liquid cooled capabilities or fans inside ?? Or maybe other brands have this , i don’t know.
I usually stop and wait 10-15min., when it reaches 50C , then it goes down to about 37-39C.
2 ways i want to try :
- Co2 cartridges applyed directly within the vecinity of it. If i buy them in bulk , i wouldn’t mind using 2-3of them /ride to get it to low temps.
- a portable dry ice spray ? This one is prob. Not Convenient because it takes a large space to carry the ice
Any other ideas ?
