home-made quad lock adapter

i am a serious minimalist when it comes to bike and e-bike cockpits. both of my road bikes (creo, aethos) have the same one piece handlebar/stem, which has tapering tube diameters that make a traditional clamp attachment for a phone or bike computer ugly at best. of course they sell an integrated computer mount, which sticks straight off the front and threads into a socket on the bar, but i don’t like bike computers (would need a phone anyway) and the out-front position is a little extreme for me - i prefer to be able to touch the screen or buttons with my hands on the bars.

so, i’ve been over the months modeling and printing various versions of this little custom “roval handlebar to quad lock” phone mount, to which i attach an iphone 12 mini that i use primarily for cycling. works great, whether with the eBike specific app or a generic cycling app on a bluetooth enabled non-e-bike, as shown here!

anyone else 3d printing bits and pieces for their bikes? the fit and finish on this one is a bit rough, i
but in person the build lines on the “down” side of the print aren’t quite as noticeable. i’ll probably have one printed professionally now that it’s working really well. the last pic fresh out of the printer is a precious, larger version.
