Hi, 1 of my WW UC motors is giving me troubles. It is the 2300 watt version. It slows down over time at about25 miles last time. It felt too hot to me to touch. before it was swapped out with another 1 of the main connectors in the housing between the frame melted and the motor quit. I thought I noticed slight amounts of slowness before and attributed this to batteries but I don’t thinks so now. The connector was replaced and I started riding it again and afierce few of my multiple battery longer rides it was obvious something was not right. At 1 point I was going a max 10mph level 5 that when fresh can hit upper 30s. If I switch out the battery when slow no difference but let it cool it will be better. If you touch when slow I think it will burn you.

it has been reprogrammed and lubed while WW was around. it is getting louder but not as loud before it was lubed, would like that checked also

i am looking for some one to send or bring it to . I do not work on these at all. I pay to have it removed and installed. I am in Atlanta area willing to drive a 1/2 day there or ship as needed. I like the programming they did unless this is causing the issue of course. Don’t care if it a forum member or shop as long as it works when done.

Happy to answer questions

I can't help you with a repair source, but I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, as I have two WW bikes with this high Watt motor.

Sent WW a message in their web site, see what response I get.

other options?

There is a guy in Germany (or some close) that works on Ultra motors with the X1 controller.
I came across some posts from him on either this forum or the Endless Sphere forum.
Unfortunately, that's a long way away.

Almost makes having the lower powered 750 - 1000w bikes a better move. You can buy the Bafang Ultra motor at stock power levels from several dealers.

If I had it to do over again I would have purchased my two WW bikes with stock powered motors. I seldom ever use more than 1000 watts when I ride.
When one of my Ultra motors bites the dust I'll replace it with a stock version.

The problem sounds mechanical. Like the motor is overcoming a great amount of friction and overheating. The controller is known to reduce power when overheating. California Ebike may be willing service the Bafang components of the motor.

opimax, what's happened to you will, over time, happen to everyone (including me) who bought two WW bikes with the high performance controller.
No help from Watt Wagons and no help from X1. We're on our own.
Is replacing the High power Ultra motor with a stock UART motor an option?

HPC has their Maverick bike coming out soon. It has an Ultra motor with a max power of 3000 watts. They MIGHT be a source for high power replacement motors if they will sell the motor by itself. They may make it only available on a complete bike.

I too did not want the highest power version , Pushkar was all about it. I wanted the smoother controller part but not the wasted power. (For me). I do not work on bikes and it costs too much just to pull the motor and have it worked on then pay to have it reinstalled. this motor has been high maintenance with has noise issues, different programming, too much power for the IGH and no one to work on it. I want something between the Bosch and this monster.
it doesn’t help that UC frame drops the belt on the 3 bikes I received. Titanium appears to have too much flex for me also.
I am still a fan of rear hub such as a Stromer but done right

I just ordered a HPC Trailbazer. I got the frame kit which includes the frame, motor, battery, front suspension fork and rear shock. The fork is the DVO Onyx and rear shock is the DVO Topaz Prime. This is going to replace the gold WW Hydra I had. I’m taking all the parts from it and installing them on the Trailblazer. Specs are 1800w and 52V 17.5AH battery. It’s down on power compared to the Hydra but in this case I think that’s a good thing. You can also get a 750 or 1200 watt version. HPC has been around for years and even has a defense line for the military. Bikes and batteries are made here in the USA. Pricing is in the area of WW. Just waiting on it to be delivered.
