Heavy rider

Hi I am looking for a bike for a heavy rider. My husband is 6’1” 350 lbs. we will only be doing short rides on bike paths or maybe in town for a little exercise. Trying to keep it less than$5000. I was looking at the Rad wagon Cargo. Are there any other options? He has some knee issues so a step through would be great but not an absolute necessity. Would a trike be a better option? I am getting a Go Cycle G4 but it won’t hold his weight. Any advice would be most Welcome.

I´ve been there a 337#, most 2 whl e-bikes are rated to only 275#. Some cargo bikes & trikes are rated
for more. It is dangerous to make a big turn on a trike over 12 mph, they will tip over. Spending 5k on
a 1st ebike probably isn´t wise. I spent $2700, + accessories on my 1st ebike only to tear it up & make
technical errors. I did however loose 30 pd anticipating it´s arrival. Truthly, your husband needs to eliminate
sugar completely, & radically reduce carbohydrates. He needs to adopt a moderate exercise & stretching
regimen & stick to in a disciplined way. My current bike, $1200, Is an NCM Moscow mtn bike,( a German
company in spite of the name). It has a very rugged frame & has served well for 4600 mi. However, at
350, the stock tires need to be replaced with something more substantial, & even then, at his weight he will
be prone to flats & broken spokes,( my experience). My sincere advice is to lose¨at least¨ 30 pds before
rewarding oneself with an ebike. I´ve been riding e now for 5 yrs. & am currently at #225, 6¨2¨. Your
husband can do it;; your support will help, but don´t coddle him.

If there are no bikes then that’s fine but please don’t lecture me about weightloss or coddling my husband. I came here for bike advice. We have personal trainers and registered dieticians for that other stuff

That was bike advice & good, It wasn't lecture, It is what he needs to do, period! I think if you love
him you¨ll help him do it. THis Is what I had to do. He is not ready for a bike.

To suppose that you know what my husband needs to do without knowing anything about him is ludicrous. Honestly you have no idea how much I have done or how much he has done or what we have been through. You don’t know what his current physical condition is. You don’t know his caloric intake nutritional needs or activity level. Again. If there is not a bike that will hold him fine. Just say that! Don’t tell me about nutrition or what he needs to do to lose weight. We have professionals helping us with that. I don’t need that kind of advice from a stranger. and it’s BS that you would even offer it here. If this is what this forum is like then I’m going to disengage from it.

Eunorau G20

Mid drive & torque sensor 😁
Load Capacity: 440lbs

Looks like it's on sale until Jan. 1st.
If you go to https://eunorau-ebike.com/ , it says you can enter "Eunorau" and get a 10% off.

Thanks this looks like a great option!

No, that´s your job, & it looks like you´ve got it covered.:) My top weight was 409#.... so I´ve been there.
It takes unrelenting determination & a confident attitude. You can believe it when I say I have nothing
but sympathy for your husband..

You have to hunt for the specs sometimes but you can usually find them. For example most Treks say a limit of 300 pounds and that includes the weight of the bike. Good luck on your search and you should find what you need, lots of good suggestions so far.
