Cube Kathmandu hybrid bike system weight limits. In Australia there are two cube Kathmandu models for sale. The Hybrid Pro 800 and the Hybrid Pro One 800. The Cube website has a pdf document for each year listing bike models, weight, rider weight, cargo, and max system weight.

The rider weight in 2025-2026 on these two bikes is 110 kg and total system weight is 140kg. I am looking for total system weight of 150-160 kg and I notice in the cube specifications a comment that the variation is system weights is caused by the weight restrictions of the installed components.

It may be possible to add a bike to the Australian importer next shipment that is normally not for sale in Australia. I notice in the 2025 cube specifications that the Kathmandu Hybrid SLX, SLT and EXC models is rider 110 and total system weight 160 kgs, and in 2026 specifications the Kathmandu Hybrid SLX, SLT and EXC 800 is rider weight 125kg and total system weight 160 kgs.

I am only interested in bikes with a conventional chain and cassette and mechanical gear change rather that electronic Di2, which leaves only one model the Kathmandu Hybrid EXC which I believe is 12 speed mechanical gears with the 160 kg weight range.

Is the frame identical in the Kathmandu models Eg Hybrid Pro 800 compared to Hybrid EXC. What makes the EXC model rated at 125 kg rider and system weight 160? Is it forks, wheels, brakes?

I have read a number of people expressing concern about rattles, hub failure and some people returning their cube bikes to the dealer. Is this a minor issue and easily solved or something to be concerned about.

Thanks for any input

I think I have found some of the reasons. The frame and wheels are the same, but the discs are larger front and back, the brake calipers are 4 piston front and back. It has ABS as well and a better fork.
