Pretty much the same here plus the USB cable fails to seat securely in the USB port. The smartphone holder feels cheap and flimsy. My Bosch smartphone holder broke on my 3rd ride & was replaced under warranty.
SmartphoneGrip looks like it only works with the Kiox display.Hey you thought the smartphone hub was gone?? nope its back I think the remote does the heavy lifting in this case.
SmartphoneGrip: Turns your smartphone into a fully connected eBike display
Simply mount the smartphone securely on the handlebar and start riding. The eBike Flow app provides you with all the important information during your ride.www.bosch-ebike.com
Looks like this is the reason cobi.bike is dead. The development team was diverted to working with the new smart system...SmartphoneGrip looks like it only works with the Kiox display.
it only works with the ne new system you can swap out the Kiox and use the new hub. same mount.SmartphoneGrip looks like it only works with the Kiox display.
ya at least you wont get stucj=k with it if you dont want it. I doubt bikes will come with it though.Looks like this is the reason cobi.bike is dead. The development team was diverted to working with the new smart system...
well its made to run with either. but the Nyon would not work work the smart system so thats out. wonder if they will make a nyon for it?Don't like that there is no display when you are not using your smartphone. I will probably just go with the Nyon because the Kiox is too small to see.
Guess you can't please everyone!
did you post any details about how to do this? i'd be curious as i'm sorta stuck with four (4) yes four (4) !!! smart phone hub things. i don't like them at all. thanks, timI have even better news for you. It only took me about 30 minutes (and some $) to junk the smartphone hub and install a Nyon...
you just buy a nyon kit like so and and change the mount and the remote. depending on how many bikes you ride at once one nyon will jump from bike to bike. you justdid you post any details about how to do this? i'd be curious as i'm sorta stuck with four (4) yes four (4) !!! smart phone hub things. i don't like them at all. thanks, tim

need a mount for each bike. https://www.rei.com/product/207105/bosch-nyon-retrofit-kit?CAWELAID=120217890013250722&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=107744800944&CATCI=aud-1396942688155la-452552810282&cm_mmc=PLA_Google|21700000001700551_2071050001|92700053575966143|TOF|71700000066691934&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmPSSBhCNARIsAH3cYgYwwfnXMv3VcRHDKB2FIJuBHhaQWk-MsYVa9SFhpJzluvZ8T0m1MQwaAjFNEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
I'm that guy...at least on my Trek Allant 8s, the remotes are the same. The hardest part of the swap was removing the terminals from the new nyon mount so I could use the existing cables. It helps greatly if you remove the plate in the new mount, but note that the screw heads are torx, not allen IIRC.my mechanic said the remote for the smart hub is different then the one used on the nyon but one guy here says it works. thats the hard part oi get and its the most expensive part to convert them.
Riding with a phone? When I had the smartphone hub, I used an old phone with no SIM card, just as a display module. The phone as a display worked fine. It's the cobi.bike app that stinks - bugs that Bosch won't bother to fix. Phones actually make a good display IF the software behind them is decent. cobi.bike flunks the software test.Jeebus riding with a phone. Does anyone take a break? I’m getting old, maybe that’s why I don’t get the phone in the face every waking hour. Just about hit two college asshats, headsets and face in phones on shared path. Oblivious to any other users... Followed by an idjet on an eBike, face in iPhone. He actually elbowed the college goofs, inadvertently, but there was contact. It could have been nasty. What a strange phenomena.
when I chanced the remote it shows its for the smarthub and and the kiox but not the nyon. no clue why there has to be some difference.I'm that guy...at least on my Trek Allant 8s, the remotes are the same. What showed this? Did you try it anyway?when I chanced the remote it shows its for the smarthub and and the kiox but not the nyon. no clue why there has to be some difference.
