Getting ready to take the leap

I am 66, 130#, retired, looking for an electric bike to explore urban settings. Unlikely to ever mountain bike.

A step thru looks very convenient.

Full suspension is probably unnecessary so the front shock and seat Thudbuster on the Nevo GH looks like a convenient compromise.

A belt drive looks like the most simple and care free option. And I think the quietness would be a major plus.

I am hoping to find something that won't go obsolete in a scant couple of years.

I am circling around a Riese Muller Nevo GH Nuvinci. I haven't bought a bike since the days of Hetchins, so five large seems like an awful lot but it is what it is.

Anything else I should consider?

If you haven't already, go to your local bike shop and test ride a few bikes. Even if you don't plan on buying the bikes you test ride, getting a feel of the different motors and styles of e-bike is worth it. Ideally you can find one with the same motor as the Riese Muller Nevo GH Nuvinci (A Bosh performance CX). I ended up broadening my search after some test rides to include no suspension bikes, and that lead to the bike I actually bought and am very happy with.
