Sorry to resurrect an old thread but after doing a bit of googling to see if anyone else had had a similar frame breakage on their Vado bikes, I found this was one of the few places I could find which had several reports of identical frame breakage issues to my Vado and I wanted to share my experience. I've only used my 2019 Vado 3.0 for commuting on the road. When the frame snapped, it also sheared one of the motor bolts too. I was riding it for some time before I eventually took to the shop to investigate why the entire frame vibrated when changing gear under electric power.
Luckily
Specialized agreed to replace it under their lifetime frame warranty with a 2023 Vado 3.0 model (looks identical to the 2022).
The whole process took about 2 weeks from dropping bike off at shop to receiving the new bike. Although the 2023 Vado has a 9 speed Alivio groupset (old bike had 10 speed Deore), the bike does still feel like an upgrade and is more modern in design.
Anyway here's some pics of the snapped frame in the exact same place as everyone's elses so was clearly a design flaw. Hopefully after 4 years Specialized made the necessary changes to avoid this happening again!
