E-bikes are now allowed on New York DEC land. This is a new development as of earlier this year. They aren't allowed on trails, but they are allowed on public roads, including the many DEC forest and truck roads. Great news for e-gravel riders like me. I never saw the old prohibition enforced out here in western NY (ATVs are supposedly prohibited too, but they ride on the forest roads here all the time), but it's nice to know I'm now legal for when I venture places east where regs are more likely to be enforced.
